95% of modding done on cars is bolt ons and tunes. The other 5% is comprised of those who will build their engines and change the suspension. If you have that skill why waste it on a platform that is limited when there are much better choices.
I'm not saying the VT is dead but there aren't that many doors that haven't been opened so there is less excitement and energy. That typically slows the momentum of any forum. It doesn't die but it just levels off.

It seems like the changes in the forum are a combination of all of these factors. Veterans leaving for whatever reason, power/cost raito, forum management, FB and the end of the current Gen VT in sight. Put all that together and it's a recipe for a slow in activity. I came from Camry and Accord forums so this place is still pretty active in comparison.
I totally agree that, while changing, forums will always be the place for real enthusiasts as a fast pace and lots of "noise" is distracting.

Here at SoCal Garage Works I can relate to the issues with cost just being a vendor. I love this community and we have released over 100+ parts never seen before this platform. However the amount of business I get from the forum is maybe 1% of my sales if I am lucky and I even have a special discount code for all the members of VTORG. However I have been not very active as I see a lot of people leaving the platform and or just not participating like the old days. I am extremely active on Facebook and Instagram and I am always in contact with Jim at Pierce Motorsports talking about future products etc. In the end I see where X is coming from and I have to agree to some extent that the cost of the forums per month no matter how big or small you are has an impact on sales and new product production.

This forum is incredibly active compared to my Sky, Solstice and Kappa forums. You are seeing a shift to Facebook because Facebook covers just about everything so people are use to it. It's comfortable and no one gets on to them for posting a question that has been answered before because the lack of an archive search feature no one is expected to "look" for an answer.
Of course, that's the sad thing about the trend of moving to FB. Retained knowledge you have on forums like this is lost. So much misinformation. Private groups make it hard too since many of us who are not deeply plugged into the FB groups have no idea about the private groups. I know Slapshift is very active on FB in groups I have no clue exist while I live on the Forums and she can't figure them out. It's nice though as we compliment one another in where to get info.
Sad to see us loosing members like -X- and all the knowledge he had to share. The way it was done sucks but I do see both sides. Would hate to loose some of the other vendors due to rising costs.

Ain't that the truth brother, I was disappointed to find so much information that the VT community benefited from was just deleted with no regard to us. This is my first forum I've been a part of as well as my first platform I've really gotten into. I found myself poking around the fb groups since then, but it's not the same as what we have here.
