    Plasti Dip thread

Hi, post your plasti-dip project and result here.

Personally i've just bought some can on the web at a good pricing! In Rona, Home depot and other store they sell the can at exorbiting price, i paid 28$ for a smoke can today... search a bit on the web and found it for 10$.. so tomorow i'll bring y 28$ can back to the store!

Bought 4 black mate can, 3 gloss, 1 smoke, 1 clear. for 87$. 100$ with shipping.

I planned to plasti-dip my VT Hood with black mate 3 layer and 3 layer of gloss to fit the black pilar.

I will plasti dip my headlight too, i will apply 3 layer of clear, design an airlock with black mate or smoke, and apply some gloss layer to match the car again.

I will smoke the fog light and put gloss finish

Tail light will be smoked of 2 layers to don't get too much dark, and will be finished with gloss layer.

    Rear reflector maybe blacked out.

Side Mirror flasher will get some base clear layer, 1 smoked layer, and gloss finish.

This should end up with a pretty good looking!

    ________________________________

Latter when there will be no more snow here in quebec!

I will plasti dip the emblem with black mate base layer, gold metaliser finish, and maybe clear if it's not enough.

Silver Trim, will get the same solution as the emblem.

And Original 18 inch mag; Front would be black mate w/ gloss, chrome star of the mag will be black with gold metaliser
Rear would get black base and gold metaliser finish, star will be black mate w/ gloss

I should begin as soon as i received my first command ! Let me know your first opinion, picture will came soon!

P.S. all this will be done on a RED BOSTON VT

Have you seen dipyourcar.com, OP? They have some pretty crazy stuff out now.

Anyway, I have dipped my car twice now. Red was my first go. I am thinking about going back.
Here are a couple shots before I got the skirts done.

I switched it up to the Koi Orange as soon as it was released in the cans. This is how it sits now.

Sorry for all the pics... but you asked for it!

None of the things you have dipped you can powder coat. Because it has to be baked in an oven plastic has to be painted.

Yes, if it's ugly as hell it is still removeable, and this easily! This is for protection purpose* Here in Québec the wheater is always changing and my VT had rought time.. It's my way to give it some love, I will be able to still look at it in 7 years! It should look fine for an inexpensive cost, 3M 1080 carbon fiber vinyl are crazy but a piece it's expensive down here and even more if i get it installed by someone else... So let's plasti dip, easy protection, easy removal, lots of look possible.

Maybe a dumb question, but is the removal of the front emblem require taking the bumper off ?or is it just that freakin snug?
