Our intake does indeed include a filter. I figured that was a given, but it seems that its normal for intake systems to have a filter optional and at a greater cost.... Weird.

Filter is optional in case people want to get their own filter.

Lots of people choose that option and go with their own filter choice for whatever reason, whether it be for color, using AEM filter, or another brand.

If any of the vendors want to throw out any specs, I'll amend my original post to list the options and any further info such as HP/TQ gains.

@Tork, what brand of filter comes with the Big Gulp? From the picture, it looks like an AEM, but the pic comes out pretty small.

If this doesn't say it, nothing will. 3" to 3.5" dyno numbers.

So car was dynoed with 3in, that was removed and 3.5 in installed then redynoed?

Nothing was touched in the tune right? Runs were same day back to back with just replacement of intake in between?

Dyno comparison was not the same day/conditions. No telling how old/dirty the filter was on the 3" intake or if size was comparible to the 3.5". Test with either intake not know if ecu reset was performed. 25 whp was likely meant to say 25 wtq. Also unknown what it did the other 3 pulls in between the 2 shown.

Not an apples to apples comparison. I mean hey, my dyno numbers went up 13 whp with same mods but with tune settling in. I could of technically installed an intake during this time better than what I had on car and gained a lot of power and said it was all from the intake, but it would not have been true.....

If the 3in was not removed on the dyno and the 3.5in intake bolted on and redynoed that day, the test shows nothing worth talking about.

If the tune was adjusted between installation, test is also bogus.

Funny how companies actually used to do this crap trying to sell product for various platforms. They'd show an increase in performance going from XYZ part to theirs and the dyno sheets would be on different dynos, or overlays from cars tuned in the summer meanwhile it was January February, or the car has had multiple other parts installed or tune was adjusted since its last dyno test and they say look we put our part on and it gained power everywhere.

You'd get 100 sheep posting they wanted the part and we'd sit back laughing. Then you try to tell them and your post gets deleted or it falls on def ears. But finally thankfully folks caught on and now question everything. 99% of those companies are long gone thankfully.

Now from what I can tell this is just a VT owner posting and not a company correct?
