A friend of mine knows an ex-race mechanic/engineer who used to work for a Korean racing team. He owns a workshop in Granville called Autojoy. They have a new dyno and some other equipment that has been sitting there for a while unused.
Cut a long story short.. my friend Chris has been bugging the dude for yonks to do an ecu tune for him. The guy sent him a message the other day to tell him that he is buying software that will enable him to do the tune.
He will tune the ecu, run it on the dyno and do a proper test drive for around the $1000 mark. Chris' car will be the test mule in a few weeks so stay tuned!
Will post results when i get them!

Little update! I saw Chris today and asked him about the tune. Hasnt picked up his car yet but was told that he got a figure of 210hp at the wheels! Thats with a tork pipe and a muffler delete.
More to come soon

yeahh laura. the guy said that because he has korean software, there are some aspects of the tune that are slightly different and he is trying to figure it out.
Chris picks his car up tomorrow but he will have to go back in on saturday to get some stuff updated. will let you know the outcomes.

That would be cool if they start tuning too

They will start soon. Just doing some fine tuning because the software is from korea and there are some differences with emissions and stuff. They will start tuning pretty soon

Im going to watch the final dyno run for Chris' tune tomorrow! Wooohooo! I got to drive his car yesterday too. That thing was a beeast! Even though he has no mods (well... a straight pipe and a tork pipe is what he has) theyve lifted the rev limiter to 7500 and when i drove it... the car had wheelspin thru each gear change. Hehhehe
Makes me want to get back into a manual again

Very interested, at least as a point of comparison...

So.. update! I dont know where i put the sheet but we did a few dyno runs yesterday.
We put my car on first ('12 model, AT, no mods except tork pipe) and managed to get 132hp at the wheels.
When we put Chris' car ('13 model, MT, no mods except tork pipe and muffler delete) on the dyno, we managed 233.2hp (best run) on the dyno. All run on 3rd gear on a Dynocomp dyno.
The VT tune is good to go but he wants to test a few more things out. Chris' car is going back in on friday for a day or so for more testing and fine tuning.
I have the 2nd or 3rd run on video if anyone is interested. I shall put it up on youtube and share the link soon

Do you happen to have the results pre tune?
