Alarm going off in garage

    Alarm going off in garage

    Anybody had any problems with the alarm going off for no reason? Mine went off in the garage but it was very cold.

    There are probably little gnomes in your garage tinkering with your sh*t dude.

    Mine went off a week after i got it once.. have not noticed it since... check to make sure your dome lights or any other lights are NOT on. That may be the issue.

    I used to think that it locked itself after I walked away.

    The security system could be more intuitive or have a better explanation in the manual.

    I was just reading on a Venza forum the same thing, and it was a hood sensor that was causing the problem. Temperature changes could cause the contacts to touch or not touch. ...This is from a Toyota, so it may not be of any help to your VT, but I thought it was interesting that others were having the same issue, too. Especially when it was cold.

    I'm really thinking it may have been the manual alarm (red horn icom),on the remote key, being depressed in my pocket by somthing else.
    Hasn't happened since.
