    2019 VT and mods for gains (repost of Tork post from FB)

    Tork posted this recently on FB:

    "Some very discouraging news for the new 2019 Veloster Turbo. The engineers did their homework on this one.

    We did the intake and exhaust... zero gains for horsepower and torque. In the video, you can hear the car struggling and hitting power limitations (ECU programming). The aftermarket parts, are going to be hard to sell with no claimed or proven gains.

    We have managed to write the ECU, but the tune will not verify, and it kicks us out of programming, so... we are working the details out of that right now.

    What does all this mean? You will have to get a tune, period. If you want an increase in horsepower, torque, driveability, or to just make the car faster, a tune will be mandatory

    This is good news for the tuners, but horrible news for the parts manufactures.

    For parts, we have:

    Muffler delete
    Intake
    Tork pipe
    Downpipe

    I will have some additional videos posted up soon on the exhaust sounds, both stock and muffler delete.

    With this car being ECU limited, we are not going to sit around and wait, we are going to get tuning addressed, and tune options released for you guys."

    i think SXTH put some stuff on a new turbo without any trouble. no tuning yet though.

    Correct, gains can be had with mods and no tune. But no doubt tuning will help greatly.

    Incorrect. Even Sxth admitted to not getting any gains with add ons to the vehicle.

    I would not consider 193/220, SAE corrected, stock numbers for any VT. Would be feasible for a car with SRI and FMIC however. Just my opinion until someone does an apples to apples dyno with a car changing parts on the dyno.

    Sxth and us have both put these cars on the dyno and had the same results. please leave the information like this to the professionals who have proof and not your speculation.

    Listen to the video. You can physically hear the vehicle surging and struggling from hitting the ECU limiters. Again please leave this to the professionals.

    They have stated multiple times it doesnt pick up power lol. We had the same power on our vt as well lmao we were bouncing back and forth between 190-195 with and with out an intake on the car
