    Both cars running SRI's....

I am going to have to do some digging but... I think just about all the engines that have popped have been running a SRI. I cannot recall one that has blown running the stock air box or a CAI.

What about matthew's short commutes to work? Repeated very short trips can't be good for it.

Oh no, I'm running a SRI. I was under the impression they were more efficient on tuned VTs.

Been thinking about going CAI recently, just can't justify the cost when I already have a homemade spectre SRI that only cost me $50

I have an SRI as well but lets not jump speculations until things can be pinpointed

Yes, but the key question being... did the engine blow on his set up due to the car not being completely warmed up. Adding that to the list now.

Agreed, I find it very unlikely that a single pipe can that has a sole purpose of sucking air can cause repetitive engines to blow, but what do I know?

I agree with this, let me do some additional digging on what intakes were on all the cars that I know of.

It would be odd, but lets keep on track with the detailed lists.

My engine did not blow ..yet... but i did have a SRI "only mod" and they ended up replacing the coil and fuel pump assy due to multiple misfires... "you can delete this if it is irrelevant".
