    Engine knock/tick, Opinions?

So my VT has 52k miles on it, and letís be honest, on my way home from work last night I punched it, the car was going fine, I got up to about 115MPH and all of a sudden two loud bangs (sounded and felt like hitting a pothole but thatís not what happened) I immediately let off the gas as most reasonable people would do, well I slowed down to about 90MPH and I tried getting my car back up to at least 100MPH but it wasnít having it at alt, the car would not build up speed AT ALL, I made it home parked in the driveway and popped the hood, and this is the sound I head
(Video of my car after the incident) dunno what it is, woke up this morning and itís still doing it, I got the oil changed with some Lucas oil treatment and it seemed to quiet it down a bit, but itís still there
Iíve taken it to 2 places, one guy told me it was a blown engine and was gonna run me 15k to fix!!!! Took it to Auto Zome and the guy told me it sounded like a lifter tap
Any ideas or opinions are welcomed
More info on the car (2014 Veloster Turbo Automatic) anything else you need to know let me know, plz help!!

You may have codes and no CEL.

You have to get a compression tester and place in spark plug hole with no fuel going to the cylinder and crank the engine over a few seconds to get readings. Compare all 4 to each other to see if they are close and that none are too low.

Be sure all plugs are intact, good color, and have proper gap at or just under .028".

Just bought the spark plugs, I’ll change them tomorrow, but as for the compression test, I don’t have a tester, will mechanic shops have them? I mean they should right?

I hope if replacing plugs you at least upgraded. Post clear close pics of all plugs if you can.

You can rent or buy compression tester from parts stores and most decent shops will have them as well.

since my VT is a push to start, while doing a compression test i just need to press it, let it crank over 5 times and press it again to get it to stop correct? also should i do a Dry and Wet test?

It will time out when it does not start.

Not sure what you mean by dry and wet. Just do it after the car has idle for a min or two and that will be sufficient.

No way. There was a 2016 complete engine with 35k miles on ebay just the other day for $1700. Maybe $1k in labor. Your car is not even worth $15k.
