You gained little to nothing on the wheel weight I believe lol. Basically looks like you just had a good driver mod and the temp wasn't too bad for some runs! Nice running Nova!
The idea behind buying 17" wheels was all about ride comfort and wheel protection on our shitty Ohio roads. :)

Yes, it has definitely been a cool summer in these parts!

Thanks for the props.

Stock rims are ~26 lbs., stock tires are ~23 lbs.

Dropping 6 lbs. of unsprung weight on each corner while using a taller profile tire is a pretty significant improvement.
Specifically dropping 6lbs on the front at each tire makes nice too, plus he's got beefier tire on smaller rims than ours which gives more rubber to support the car for nicer launches and shifts for sure. Honestly, i'm not surprised he pulled off the time he did.

Ugh reading these post makes me want to head to the track and go for 13s. Last run was 14.0 :( then clutch went a month later I've only gone about 5 times never really hard launched or power shifted so I'm sure now with these lighter wheels and if I launch properly I can hit 13s!!! Maybe when I can afford a back up clutch I'll starr playing more

Went back last night. Went 14.58
Weather was 10* warmer compared to last week when she ran 14.55.
Traction was also an issue this week (short times were averaging 2.35 last night and 2.20 last week).
Given that we ran a nearly identical ET with a 60' time that was .15 slower, we are on the right track.
Will be going back in a week or two to try and further dial in the launch.

As for the actual eliminations, she lost on a breakout by .02
Was a great race to watch!

No video Nova?!?! Awww, now you're hurting my feelings lol! Sounds like you're heading in the right direction. What kind of tire pressure you running with those tires? Also, you building a lil boost before launch?

Answers in red.

No video Nova?!?! I did get video. Didn't upload since the ET was not quicker than last week.

What kind of tire pressure you running with those tires? 30 front/60 rear

Also, you building a lil boost before launch? We've been playing with that a little bit, but it seems to be producing erratic results. While we are all want to go as quick as we can, we also want to win races. That requires consistency.

Well on the building boost for launch response, I understand what you're saying. However, that depends on the type of drag racing you're doing. Some just want the fastest time at the strip and aren't Bracket racing as we call it. Bracket racing is a whole other venue in drag racing, consistency is the main key lol! B/o = bad lol! (Breakouts for those that don't know, not body odor, but that too, is bad)

Definitely on my list. I was just showing my wife what was involved last night (how simple it was). Maybe I'll have her do it. :)
Yeah, I have to agree I'm going to have to do the same thing. This Texas heat is killing my IAT's!!

Do the TB coolant bypass mod. Easy 10-15* F drop in IATs.
I have to find time to find the thread and do it I've been wanting to haven't had time :(

I don't believe the stock wheels and tires weigh 49 pounds each.

I just rotated the tires and wish I had weighed them.

I know they didn't weigh that much however.

Maybe you should go weigh them before calling someone out.

I have weighed them and they were right 48-49 pounds each.

Wheels are right at 27 and tires fluctuated 21-22.

A closer reading would reveal that I didn't "call anyone out", and true to form

your reply to my post stays true to form.
