0-60 and 1/4 miles times

For what its worth. Via an in car GPS based tracking application.

I was able to pull a 0-60mph in 6.0sec flat ( with moderate wheel spin in 1st ) and a 1/4 mile in 15.0sec @ 91mph .. ( forgot to take traction control off, can probably pull off 14.8sec on a good launch )

Both runs were done with 1/4 tank of gas 89 octane. Its also pretty chilly here. 45*F at the time of testing.

How else would you get an official time slip with your 60 ft and trap speeds?
He been using a app for his phone to tell his 1/4 mile time on regular roads. That why I said what I said earlier.
Here you go. I was right side.
Nice!!! We have an 1/8 mile strip in town about 1 mile from the house but the closest 1/4 is about 100 miles away. I hope to run some this season. I did a 1/4 with the torque app today but I can tell its off gave me a 14.875 and that's with an auto.
Thats definitely possible. My car had more in it but heat soak was killing me. My car is an auto to.
ahh ok cool. my previous car did a 10.23 at 81 mph on the 1/8th mile but i had like a 2.8 60' my car was a dog cuz it was auto and the turbo was all top end lol. i'd post the slip, but it got washed too many times in my wallet hahaha. I know the mph sounds really high, but that's what it did, hard to believe it was a scion :p
Heat soak - huh?

That does explain the variability in my performance. But this is the first that I've heard of it here.

The weather turned cold again here and it was definitely horsepower weather. It was nice to have to grab the wheel and hold on again.

So how do you know when you are experiencing heat soak?
any car just sitting around idling waiting in the staging lanes will suffer from it, unles you have your hood up and open till you get almost to the water box, and even then. that is why intercooler chillers and low down front mounts work so well.

You can feel the car start to pull timing when the intercooler is getting hot. I did 4 runs that night I believe I drove there filled out my paperwork went through tech and ran the car maybe 10 15 minutes of downtime to let it cool off. I did a 15.4 I believe. Let the car sit for another 20-25 minutes and did like a 15.3 15.4. Did the same thing once more. I got discouraged a bit so I let the car sit for like an hour with the hood open. Went back and the motor was almost cool to the touch so I took it down once more and did the 15.0. I was just putting the car in Sports mode and not doing any of the shifting myself so it should have been very consistent but to shave 4 tenths off my time had to mean the car needed to cool down.
yeah 4/10's is a lot of time in the quarter. I am sure with a better fmic, and even some heat isolation, that time would become much more consistent.
Sadly my local track closed for good but I may have to take a trip to Englishtown once my FMIC and hi flow cat are on. The 15.0 was bone stock very little spin so im wondering with full bolts ons and lighter rims but wider tires what itll do.

Alright I ran both app Torque App and Speedview on my droid. I ran both 1/4 mile. On the torque it say 15.7 trapping at 98mph and ran again with good launch 15.6 at 97.6 mph. Then ran Speedview and I ran 14.8 at 90 mph with a bad launch. Which app is accurate or none of these? I know I need to take it to a track but the track got rain out on Thurs and Sat. they have a drag race event. So I figure I do this late late night to do this. Shhh.... don't tell no one!! lol!!
Ive only ever used SpeedView. Before my intake, I pulled a 15.0 @ 94mph. Have yet to try it again since the install.
Well, we don't have a 1/4 mile strip to run here... we only have a 1/8 mile strip and last nigh was my first time taking it there. With the cai cover off and the cat back magnaflow and running 93 octane with over 1/2 tank of gas I was running 9.6 all night with shift mode and sport mode and with traction control on and off.

I was killing Mazda speed 3, ford focus, a few trucks and a Pontiac gt . Cars pretty quick and I had people heads turning! Awesome car!!

I will definitely be getting out the track sometime in the near future to see what she can do, but it still has to get warmer here !!!
I'm bone stock, I'll post some slips in 2 weeks when i go.
I'm fortunate to have a 1/4 mile trek about 10 minutes from my apt lol. I ran a 14.799 a couple months back. I have the time slips I'll post them when I get home!

My setup was the Injen CAI and resonator muffler delete with a magna flow muffler welded in. I plan on ordering a downpipe and upgrade the intercooler this summer then head back to the track.

On a set of better tires you could definitely pull a better 60 and cut that down quite a bit.
I would like to get a new set of wheels and tires this summer. Something wider and alot softer. Maybe a new suspension as well
I can def see much better 60' times, I know my car (when not suffering from heat soak) will chirp the tire all through first, so I imagine yours would do the same, and I am stock :p
