I apologise if this is a duplicate posting.

I got my hands on the new 2013 Canadian Hyundai Veloster/Veloster Turbo Sales Brochure, and noticed there was a Performance Axle Back Exhaust listed under the accessories section in the back of the brochure.

Here is the full listing (refer to page 17 of Canadian PDF brochure):

It doesn't specify whether it is for either/or Veloster NA/Turbo versions....

I don't have any info on ETA nor pricing.

Hopefully this can be used on the turbo. It would be good to have an exhaust that Hyundai will warranty.

If you bought an exhaust not approved by Hyundai all it would void is the exhaust... when does an exhaust go bad? This is the only part that I think Hyundai wouldn't warranty.

The exhaust, if a factory accessory like it looks, would carry a warranty. An exhaust doesn't go bad, I'm aware of this. I'm just considering the pros of all the available exhaust options.

Hyundai Canada does list performance type parts for some of their cars. The Genesis is available with AEM intakes, Eibach springs and swaybars, exhaust systems that are rebranded Magnaflow unit. All covered under the cars warranty, but some stuff is very overpriced.

Just spoke to the parts guy at my dealership. Exhaust shows in their system for the VT but all info is listed as TBA.

Bad news from my guy here as well:

"I had my parts mgr check into this and although most domestic car companies treat Canada and the U.S. as all a part of North American sales, Hyundai like most foreign car companies treat Canada completely different, just as they would Italy or Germany, when compared to the U.S. with different regulations and emissions standards. We also do not yet have a 2013 Veloster accessories catalog, perhaps we will soon and once we get it hopefully it will reflect the same/ similar exhaust upgrade. Until then, possibly you could consider obtaining one from Canada, however you may or may not have some emissions / pollution standards issue? Hope that helps!"

I can't see any problem with an exhaust system and emissions unless the system doesn't come with a cat. In that case, you'd have to add your own, right? Also, if it does come with a cat, then you just have to be sure it meets regulations. Can't imagine they'd make 2 sets for the US because of CA. Are Canadian emission standards just as strict as CA? If so, probably won't have a problem.

I honestly don't foresee any issues either.
The CA system will work just as well. Regardless, it's an axle back system for either country, we just don't know when we can expect it OR how much it will be.
I won't mind taking a trip to CA since I am only 40mins away from the border .
