I picked up my White VT on Tuesday night and have been loving it! I drove through some rainy weather Wed and it got fairly dirty so my dad and I went to go wash it off tonight. We only do the quater carwashes with the spayer, never the drive through washes where they beat your car up, so I was surprised when the sprayer went over the bottom part of the bumper paint came off with the dirt!! I'm so upset, the dealer should fix this defect, right? It's got to be under the warranty.

Anyone else have this problem??

There's a paint warranty for defects. Its in your warranty manual. It tells you about all kinds. They should fix this.

no, i didn't want to fight with the dealer over it..

Not to mention, I probably wouldn't be satisfied with the job they did after the fact. I just decided to leave it alone and cut my losses.

i got a rock dent on the hood first day , and come to except that this car is just going to get hammered in the front end from road debris you can try going ham with 3m scotchgard film. but beside the point the dealer may fix this for you , but dont get your hopes up because it looks like road pebble damage and they will likely weasle out of fixing it. your other options are di-noc, plastidip, self repaint.

I'm going into the dealer tomorrow, so we will see what they say. Does anyone know if the paint on that part of the bumper is the same as the matter grey paint? Is there some sort of special care that should be happening on these parts of the car? The paint came off as I was washing it with the spray hose, that's why I ask.

coming from someone that is in the process o getting an RA to fix my own paint issue, it looks like there are issues across the board. Mine was checked by the body shop as being stained under the clear coat. mine have to get repainted under warranty.

Hi All,

Been trolling for a bit, but after seeing this post, I just had to register, also this forum seems much more laid back than that other ***** forum
I'm in Long Island, NY so my contact that installs this probably won't benefit the OP much, but definitely look into it:

Self Healing Paint Protection Film - XPEL ULTIMATE Paint Protection Film

I absolutely swear by it and within the next few months I'll most likely wrap the whole car. Not only does it make the paint look glossy and perfect always, I haven't has so much as a speck on the front bumper, mirrors or hood in 1500 miles. I had the same set up on my recently deceased Civic Si for over 45k miles and not a single scratch.

Make sure its the 'Ultimate' film, and make sure you do your research on whomever is installing it, as that can factor into the paint protection films effectiveness.
