so a thought crossed my mind if hyundai used the same bov flange for the veloster AND gen coupe, I stumbled upon a gen coupe wastegate replacement, which makes me wonder if they used the same wastegate setup on the 2 different turbos.. It's a long shot I know however it might be something that will help from having boost fall off and it's adjustable so it'd be a manual boost controller :) whose willing to try it out/ do research lol

I would be willing to try something out like this but the turbo is in a really PITA area. If it wasn't the same or if the EBC compensated for the different WG pressure to maintain stock boost levels it would be a massive waste of money and time.

On the Gen coupe, all of the turbo system is right there for you to access. On this car, you hardly have a chance to see the turbo from the top or the bottom of the car.

dropping ~200$ into a part just to hope it fits and investing another few hours trying to install it is a lot to ask of people, especially since the majority of VT owners are not this mechanically savvy much less willing to be a pioneer.

Maybe if AGP donating a unit to try out, it would be a totally different story. I already regret spending the 165$ to verify the fitment of the Forge BOV for everyone.

So would you not recommended installing a Forge BOV ? Are you talking about the one made for the veloster or the one for the coupe? I had this on my list of things to do over the winter... but if it just leads to alot of problems.... I dont really want to do it?

there is none MADE for the V. It is the one from the coupe.

I have been having a decent amount of issues with it not opening under light throttle in the cold.. which isn't a REAL problem since there is absolutely no harm under these conditions but it likes to trip the CEL.

The reason I regret it is I will be upgrading to my FMIC kit once production starts and have no use for it anymore.

The forge is an AWESOME BOV and will not cause any problems other than possibility of tripping the CEL if you shift under light throttle conditions in the cold. the CEL doesn't seem to have any effect other than the light.

ahHA.. i see.. I just need to be a bit snarky .. well what I was thinking turbo is if someone could find technical drawings or if some how someone could get pictures of the turbo section to see if before anyone buys it if it has a remote chance at working.. then if it does maybe someone could get agp to send it to them at a reduced rate. a quick way to see if the computer would drop boost levels down would be to put in a MBC in line with the wastgate, which I have a spare one sitting around lol.

As far as the forge, I'm willing to bet 90% of your issues are stemming from too stiff of spring. the CEL is a bov malfunction code which is probably being caused by the fact it's not opening the way it should. Someone else mentioned they had a lighter spring in and hasn't had any issues yet.

i put the green in for a week and had the same issues. Either way, in retrospect, I see no point in having the aftermarket BOV since after more logging and realizing the heat soak on the IC, there wouldn't be much point in upping the boost on the stock unit (which would be the only real reason I see for the forge)

I would almost be willing to put money on it that it wont come for some time. It is much easier and cheaper for people to develop and entire FMIC kit with a off-the-shelf flange. If someone made an upgraded core is the only time I see the stock flange possibly being used but most companies, I would assume would take the easy, more efficient route with the full FMIC.
