I intend to replace my wheels at some point, but right now I don't have the money. I've been considering wheel spacers as a cheaper alternative, to hold me over. I found the following:

I've heard Akata spacers are good. I know the spacing (5x114.3) and center bore (67.1) are correct. Is 5mm spacing worth $100 (2 sets needed to do all 4 wheels), or would it be too small to be noticed? If so, is it worth $160 for 12mm? I know that Garageline makes some nice 15mm wheel spacers, but they want a bit more for them than I am willing to pay. Even $160 seems too much, honestly. $100 is borderline too much, but seems to be as cheap as it gets.

The only thing spacers are going to do is make your wheels stick out 5mm or 15mm. I really don't see spending that amount of money just so your wheels stick out .59 inches. I rather spend the money somewhere else a little more useful.

I guess you can make an argument saying it could help your car handle a bit better. But I doubt anything is noticeable.

I say save your money.

$100 could be used for: BOV, HIDs, Tints, Mudguards, etc... they make a HUGE difference. alot more than .59inches atleast lol

I agree, i paid 139 for my injen cai, 89 for my dd fog lights, 170 for my 3M tints..well u get the idea how much u can invest w 100 bucks or so. Go w useful stuff

I was thinking the same thing. I thought I saw cheap spacers at pep boys as time I was there.

The problem with those type of spacers is that they still use the stock studs and the lugs will have 8mm less of the stud to hold on to.

And this, gents, is why I ask here before making any purchases thanks for all the thoughts and ideas. I'll just wait for my wheels for the moment. I don't want to hurt anything or waste any money.

Not quite true. The Nissan 370Z has a Center Bore of 66.1, but we have a 67.1, from what I read. Can anyone confirm?

Also, their spacers cost $150-180 per pair, from what I'm seeing. If you have a cheaper link to share, please do.

Yes, the Nissan has a different hub bore. What you could do is look on other Hyundai or even Mazda forums for a used set of proper spacers like GarageLine, H&R, Eibach, MotorSport tech, etc. A used set would prob be around $150.

except they still hold on to plenty of thread to be more than safe. If they were more than 8mm you would be pushing it as far as safety goes but 8mm or less and you still have a good 1/2" to hold on to.

With 8mm simple spacers you aren't going to hurt anything, its going to cost you less than 35$ and it is going to look better. If that is what you are looking for, spending more is just spending more money. period..

FYI, I have been running for 18000 miles now with 8mm spacers I haven't had a single lug nut come loose or a single vibration issue with a <35$ set of spacers from ricer zone..

I'm looking to getting something like those, 8mm sounds good enough.
Any specific brand from autorice? Any specific type of metal they should be made of?

I haven't been able to determine an appropriate wheel spacer to use, yet. Sounds like Turbosocks knows a good one.

Please let us know! I'd love to have my wheels appropriately flush, or at least a little more stanced. low'n'fat4lyfe :3

I don't recall the brand but you should be able to get something similar at any autozone, o'reilly, napa or advance auto parts.

Not sure on the material but I know they work!!

Just make SURE you don't get anything over 8mm. If you go over 8mm you risk having an unsafe amount of threads catching on the studs.

I picked up two sets of these: Wheel Spacers Adapter Aluminum Pair 5x114.3 67.1 5mm

They are really fantastically made for the price. Machined rather than cast. Exact fit, including the centerbore. Looks a lot better. I'll get some photos tonight.
