Yesterday I noticed that the back seats in my VT don't latch. They just rest there. I know that they are supposed to be secure but for some reason my seat latches don't seem to work. I think I'm going to have to take it to the dealer. I do have the stock cargo liner with back seat covers but I do not think this is the issue. Anyone else experiencing these problems?

Not that I'm aware of.

I just got back from Vegas last week and no one in the backseats complained of such a thing. If they did, I didn't hear them because of the loud music.

I had that issue once and it turned out the seatbelt was behind the seat preventing it from locking into place. I pulled it out and it latched just fine.

Make sure the button is in the up or popped position before you slam them back. You may need to push the button down to lock the seats once you slam them back.

Cover is keeping it from latching..

Make sure the seat belt is out of the way and slam it. The covers on the back are not the problem unless they are on wrong

No covers and no seatbelt issues and I have to slam mine to get them to lock also.

Confirmed, they need to be slammed pretty hard in order to latch...however after a hard slam like that my seatbelts lock up, making it a PITA to fold the seats back down...

Thanks everyone. The consensus here and on veloster.org seem to be that you need to be a bit aggressive to get the seats to latch. I checked the seat covers and they are on correctly and do not block the latch mechanism. Also, the seat belts are not in the way. I have been real careful when closing them and havent used any force. I will try to put a little more force behind and see if it works. Based on what everyone else is saying, I'm sure it will fix it. I will try later and let you all know if it works.

I have the back seat covers as well and the only issue I've had is with the driver side passenger seat. You just got to give it a hard slam and it will lock up.

Ditto, I have to slam the driver side rear seat. The passenger seat is fine. I accept it as cost cutting to cram all the goodies we do have in our $22k cars.

I can't seem to get either of the seats to latch. I tried being more aggressive, they just dont click in. And the liners, even though they seem to not fit right, do not block the latching mechanism. The one thing I must mention, is that on both left and right rear seat, the release on the top of the seats appear to be stuck in the open position. They both have a red ring visible toward where the rod goes into the seat. I can pull them out a bit more, but they do not go in. I would imagine the red strip should only be visible when it was pulled. What is it supposed to look like?

So are they supposed to stay red until they are latched? Mine seem to stay in that position. But I've never had them latched so I don't know what they are supposed to look like.
