Has anyone baked and painted their headlights yet?

I've seen a few pictures around ( http://www.veloster.org/forum/attac...hting/3426-hid-installed-veloster-white-2.gif ) and have been thinking about doing the same as well as maybe (http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Headlight-Eyebrow-PAINTED-11-12-Hyundai-Veloster-/00/s/MTAwMFgxMDAw/$%28KGrHqV,!l0E65N43oMOBOug3JmTP!~~60_35.JPG)

Have always wanted to do this to previous cars but have been too nervous!

What do you guys think, on a scale of 1 - I give up how hard is it?

I know it involves throwing them in the oven for a hour or so at a low temp and then prying them apart, but I'm too nervous until I know somebody else has successfully done it

not quite sure these will fit well into an oven when it is closed. I still prefer the heat gun method so you don't end up with a bubbled lens because you were not checking up on it enough.. I was debating painting the bezel black and tinting the corner lens.. hmmm..

these headlights are HUGE though. probably bigger than the TC.

All of our good tools are in storage quite far away :[ (e.g. I have no heat gun :'( )

It looks so good with the white on white, and since I'm sure ill have to stay away from most performance mods to keep my 100k bumper to bumper a project like this would be nice!

I have a few things planned .. Bumper claws painted Elite White, my Rally Armor stuff should be in soon and I cant wait to have a roof rack again (No sunroof on my V :[ )

Hmm, Maybe i'll have to be the ginnie pig on this one!

As a company that open these headlights, it's a LITTLE bit more involved than just heating up and pulling apart. That being said, the only other tools you need are a Philips screwdriver. We use the heat gun method.

If you do decide to paint them, make sure you use heat resistant paint, as the head generated from your lights might melt the paint. Especially if you install HID's. Yes, these lights are larger than those tC lights.

One of our employees has his bezel painted white on his white V (non turbo). Land vehicle Vehicle Car Hyundai Hyundai veloster

Sweet, It will be hard to find paint to match the body color in high temp.

Thanks for the pro tips btw!

We can. It's a special order item, but the price to you will be the same for white. IF you order, just add in the comment section (there's a place for customer comments) that you'd like white paint instead of black and we will change it for you, no problem.

Other colors, unfortunately, are more expensive because the paint itself, is more expensive.

That's good news, because I like the way the white and the black accents set each other off. If you have close-ups of the headlight, I would LOVE to see them in action!! :)
Once I have secured my VT I will be purchasing a pair of these, fully loaded and painted of course. Thanks again!
