I'm not an audiophile, but the BT streaming sounds like shit in my VT. My fiancée has an Elantra, and in her car the BT streaming sounds good (not great)

I've got an iPhone 4S, I've tried messing with the output volume on the iPhone and that seems to help a little. The problem then is the volume on the VT is jacked way up and when I start the car later I go deaf.

Anyone else notice this?

I stream through my Galaxy S3 every time... I have no complaints, hits all the notes that I would ask for (even cd quality) and bluetooth calling is perfect... Sorry!

Interesting, I have an iphone 4s and mine sounds like crap also. I figured it was bluetooth and pandora combined. Based on the comment about the S3, I would lay my money on crappy software on the iphone, although the bluetooth linked calling sounds fine.

I just plug it in and play it that way. Sounds great.

I use the same iPhone in the Elantra and it sounds fine. (So bugger off droid fanboys)

Are you saying the software in the VT head is the issue?

Haha not being a "fanboy", just stating that it seems that the majority of the problem seems to be Iphone paired with Veloster :)

not a fanboy statement - it's true. I keep meaning to test my sister's iphone 5 to see if there's a difference. 4S doesn't sound good at all and I'll put up with the stutter/freezing when plugged in over USB for now.

I guess I should have stated we too, like elecblue06, have the HTC EVO 4g LTE. booth sound great in the sonata using either bluetooth or plug in. You just have to figure your variable, is it the phone, the car, the app your using to stream music (pandora, mp3). I know you, JKxZ, have a friend with a gs3 or an htc phone. Ask them to try their pandora via bluetooth in your vt. and if still sounds bad than it isn't the phone. do a process of elimination to pin point what is making your muzak sound bad.

iPhone S4 here, so chalk that up as another iPhone with crappy BT connectivity.

Well if I use the same phone in different cars and the quality is different I'm going to say the point of failure isn't the phone.

I think I'll try an external Bluetooth receiver to the line in. It might be the Bluetooth module in the VT.

Well.... Went home today. Brought my mom outside with her Iphone 4S. Connected via bluetooth. The sound for phone calls was fine, however.... Any streaming music, be it from her Itunes, Pandora, (or even media like youtube) was really raspy... sounded pretty poor. I wonder if Hyundai will launch an update for the unit to get rid of the pairing issue.

To all you iphone guys/gals I would suggest AUX/USB :)

Its not the "phone" is the VT headunit pairing with the phone. The iphone works very well for bluetooth streaming in many makes/models. Just, well... Just not this one

I have a Galaxy S3 and I also don't have any complaints with the bluetooth streaming the few times I've used it (both local mp3's, Pandora, etc..) The only thing I have to compare it to is my girlfriend's '12 Corolla, which sounds the same to me quality-wise.

my Nokia N9 streaming sounds great. (2.1 +EDR)

BUT the N series phones from Nokia always were designed to be multimedia devices, so that might be some of it

The built-in Bluetooth v2.1 +EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) supports stereo audio output with the A2DP profile. Built-in car hands-free kits are also supported with the HFP profile. File transfer is supported (FTP) along with the OPP profile for sending/receiving objects. It is possible to remote control the device with the AVRCP profile. The Bluetooth chip also functions as a FM Receiver/Transmitter, allowing one to listen to the FM radio by using headphones connected to the 3.5 jack as antenna. As with the Nokia N800, N810 and N900, it will ship without software support.[23] However an FM radio application is already available in OVI Store from independent developer.[24]

NFC is also supported for sharing photos, contacts, or music with other devices supporting NFC (e.g. Nokia C7, Nokia 701) and also pairing (connecting) stereo speakers (e.g. Nokia Play 360) and headset (e.g. Nokia BH-505). More than one device can be connected simultaneously with N9 via NFC.

I also noticed crappy BT audio when volume is all the way up on my Lumia 920. (Windows Phone 8) Bringing the volume down a bit on the phone helped but overall disappointed on BT sound. Only with this car. On my 2012 Toyota Venza BT Audio is Superb! HD quality. So its not only an iPhone issue. BTW calls are just fine, only problem is the audio streaming.
