Started as the brake light sign turning on, and a very loose and spongey feeling brake pedal two days after I brought home my VT. It keeps losing brake fluid and the technicians at Hyundai can't figure out where the leak is and where the fluid is draining to. They are presently opening a repair ticket with Hyundai, just in case this turns into a "recall" issue.
So driving a loaner for now... LAME! :(

Just glad you didn't get hurt. I had my 2002 Celica GT have that spongy brake feeling during a hot day and when I hit my brakes they failed and I almost got into a wreck. Anyone else ever have that happen, freaky as all hell?

Had a Beretta GTZ before and a caliper mounting bolt snapped when braking for a stop sign, brakes went to the floor. and i had to yank the shitty e brake luckily there was no cross traffic at that time.

Glad I didn't wait for the weekend to have this fixed. I thought it was just low on brake fluid, nothing serious.
BTW, the dealership I brought it in had never had a VT in stock, so all the guys working there came over to check out the car.
there were a lot of oooh's and aaah's... :)

Got word from the service guys - I have a broken passenger side brake caliper, and the brake fluid is leaking into the rim. An easy fix (and they are replacing the rims also), except the parts have to be shipped from Korea! So I will be without the car for possibly a week.. SUCKS big time. :(

Leaking INTO it as in , inside the wheel, under the tire?

Good to see that they are changing the rim too because that would have consequences down the road when the finish is destroyed from the fluid, sounds like you have a good dealer.

Day 13 without the VT. Parts still on its way from Korea, they don't know when it will get here.

Emailed the CEO and corporate service of Hyundai (like what the guy with the broken cooling fan did, thanks), they replied saying they are aware of my predicament and is working with the dealership to resolve it. Documented my complaints and gave me a case number.

The dealership says they were attempting to frankenstein parts from other Velosters, but they say it doesn't fit the manual transmission VT brake setup. Is this true? Or is there a car with a brake system that would be a match to the VT?
