First... the welds and stuff on the prototype are a little ruff so please keep that in mind.

Our CAI can be converted from CAI to SRI very easy and we have an OEM looking support bracket that holds the intake up and off the important stuff. If you look at our design we took the time to make it contour the engine bay, we didn't just take two 90 degree bends and weld them together. Our intake fits like an OEM CAI should fit.

Picture of the OEM box:

Installed on the car CAI:

Something to note about our CAI, we have seen a 8 to 10% gain in fuel economy with in-town driving and a 5% gain in economy on the freeway. We attribute the gains from cooler temps and less heat soak from the OEM air box (lots of plastic to soak up all that heat from the engine bay).

There is a 6 lb weight difference from the stock air box assembly to our CAI.

Good news about our CAI:

Gains at 4000 RPM:

Gains at 6000 RPM:

Gains at 6600 RPM:

The best news about our CAI's... we have in house powder coating so we can coat the piping to match your color scheme or ??? We have over 50 different colors to choose from! For the custom colors we will have a minimum charge of $50, if you want a standard color it will be free.

Standard colors are:

Gloss red
Gun metal
Satin black

We can do:
Candy Apple Green
Wrinkle black
Safety orange
Virginia tech orange
Electric blue
Gloss black
Powder blue
Navy blue
HKS pink
Safety yellow
Lime Green
and many, many more.

Standard retail on the intake will be $249 in standard colors and $295 in custom colors. We will be having a group buy on them when we get the first 20 built at $225!!! Shipping will average $40 to $60 depending on where you live in the US. We ship worldwide so please email us for your shipping quote.

Thanks,

John

I also forgot to note that our intake does not have the provisions for running the factory surge valve back into the intake piping. We feel that running the hot air back into the compressor inlet hurts performance. We also do not run the crank case breather line back into the intake (again, hot oily gases are not good for making power). We include a very nice adapter part and filter for the crank case breather.

Are they all going to be welded or are you sending them off to bender?
They are going to be sent off to the bender but... there will still be one weld joint due to the distance between centers.

If need be we can smooth the welds and get the pipe polished afterwards.

Really waiting to hear more on this one. 45`s are always better than 90`s for flow. Minimal impact but makes sense. Don't mind the missing breather port but wish it had the recirc port. I'm in the market please keep us posted.

A lot of people have commented on the missing recirc port, so we are adding that to the intake as an option. It will be in the drop down list for an additional charge. I refuse to add the oil breather line, hot oily vapors coating the intake, turbo, intercooler pipes and intercooler... horrible idea.

Could you post a pic of the oil breather adapter & filter? I just put on an extra piece of hose I had laying around and a PCV filter, but it doesnt look great, might be interested if you would seperate those pieces out.

Hello,

I am wondering if you've made consessions or plans to ensure the CAI fits with a strut tower brace installed?

Depends on what strut tower brace you are using.

I don't think you can fit a twin tube strut tower brace with a 3" CAI without hitting the fuel line. I single tube strut tower brace that hugs the edge of the hood line will work with out CAI.

There are probably more than a few people who would like to know if it would fit specifically with either the Pierce 2-bar or the Luxon strut tower braces. I know I would.
We will order up the Pierce bar to check fitment.

So did this ever get done? Interested in fitment issues.
No fitment issues, just a simple redesign on the bracket and we will be on our site this weekend.

Thanks,

John
