hey guys. I just finished installing my catch can. I installed it on a rubber washer or whatever it is that my cai uses. It had enough thread and it was safe. Then I zip-tied it as a fail safe (don't hate.) Anyway, it's snug and moves around with my intake. I think it's just fine.

SO THE QUESTION. I hear a leak, but there is no leak... I don't feel any leaks at all. It sounds like air is swirling inside the catch can. I was wondering for those who have installed a catch can if this was a common phenomena. No CELs, no bad readings from my Torque app. Car is running just fine.

Any advice/hate/criticism on the location and zip-tie is greatly appreciated. It was a very simple install. I just used the original hosing from the pcv and got a hose splicer or whatever and connected it to a 3/8 hose and hose clamped it. Then the other one, I just use the 3/8 hose and hose clamped it into my catch can. Bought an L bracket; well... 3 but 2 of them were not needed so i wasted some money. Hosing was 5 bucks.

Has to be the zip ties then. Lol jk
Haven't noticed a sound.
OP: is your can baffled?
Good question...mine is baffled and has steel mesh plus stainless scouring type material from Billet Technologies...cant hear anything other than the intake swooshing.

That's the problem, steel mesh will 1) help catch the particles so they do get pushed through 2) Most likely muffle the sounds your hearing
Look at turbosocks thread about oil catch can for how to baffle your catch can or google.

The "mesh" is not necessary to have, in order for the can to work.

Additionally, there is going to have to be some oil inside the can before it will become visible in the sight glass(tube). It may be more than an ounce and it will take a few thousand miles before you get close to having that much collected.

Hmm I see thanks guys. I asked Turbosocks and he suggested that it could be a leak under vacuum or that somethign isn't fitting tightly. I wonder if that could be the case too. If it's just the noise the catch can is making, I am fine with that. I will probably go and buy those mesh and what not soon though.

Could I 'feel' a leak? I mean, I don't feel any leaks near the nose clamps and definitely no leaks near my catch can. The sound is definitely coming from the catch can, but maybe it could be the hosing too? But then again, Darkhill240 said the sound is normal. Should I get a video of it up?

I just took a video, but the sound is very light. It sounds like air is swirling/leaking, but my intake and engine's sound is much louder and my camera is having a hard time catching it. I honestly, don't think it's a leak, if it is... so far there are no negative results.

I felt for leaks, none. The hoses are not leaking and the sound is definitely coming from the can. Here is a video, you might need to pay attention to hear the sound.
