How do you debadge a car?
Wondering if anyone has done this with matte paint?
Heat Gun and goof-off or whatever that stuff is called. I told my dealer right away, Don't you DARE put your sticker on my car, HAHA!! They didn'tI am not interested in debadging but do want to take off the dealer sticker. Any comments on that process?
So did I (and they didn't), but they did fit a chrome bezel with dealer info on the rear plate .. I changed that for the stock Veloster one... I told my dealer right away, Don't you DARE put your sticker on my car, HAHA!! They didn't.
.. .
...don't leave to dealer until they remove it.........want to take off the dealer sticker. Any comments on that process?
Thanks so much for posting this. When I de-badged my accent I scratched it all up trying to pry the letters off, and then pretty much rubbed all the clear coat off with goo gone getting the rest. I didn't realize I was going to do so much damage.I used dental floss to de-badge my ride, super easy and the leftover residue rubs right off with your finger, had no issues and love the clean look.
I live in AZ, no need for a heat gun. I have used WD40 to remove residue after debadging with great success.Heat Gun and goof-off or whatever that stuff is called.
...could always tell them to take it off....Thanks for the comments. While it's too late to tell the dealer not to put it on, I will have to try the hair dryer and goo gone or 3m adhesive remover and buy a heat gun if the hair dryer does not work.
True, i am close to my 9k mile oil change. I will have to make a note of asking them to take it off and see how much the want to charge for the work....could always tell them to take it off....
