I was thinking about upgrading the amp and sub on my VT turbo, I currently have the stock 8 speaker Dimension Premium sound from factory. I was debating if I wanted to get a 5ch amp was considering Rockford Fozgate 1000w amp to enhance the sound of the speakers as well, or just getting a mono ch amp and just install new sub. I was thinking about getting a JL audio W3 10in either w/5ch or mono. My question is, if I do the mono amp will the current amp allocate the extra wattage to the speakers since i will not be running the current sub anymore? Because the sound is ok now, but it's just not loud enough, now I don't want to enter in any sound competitions, but I do want my system to be louder.

after 5 months my drivers door tweeter (I guess that how its written LOL) is scratchy... do you guys know if I can take it to the dealer and have them fix?
If something is faulty with the tweeter, you should be able to get them to replace it. My speakers in the driver and passenger doors both started rattling, so I took my car to the dealer. They checked it out and the determined it was caused by the coil in the speaker and replaced both under warranty.

I picked up a Pioneer 8" shallow depth sub to replace the stock sub but haven't had a chance to install it yet. I would also like to look into replacing the stock amp as well, but according to the wiring diagrams I've seen so far, the stock amp has a SPDIF input from the head unit.

I don't think the factory speakers would hold up an aftermarket 5 ch amp.

If you are content with the interior speakers, you can add a seperate amp and sub to help the bass. But if you are not content with the interior speakers, than best bet would to replace the speaker and amps.

I'd want to replace the stock speakers as well, but for the time being, I would want to keep the stock head unit, which again, leads to questions of connecting it to an after market amp. Anyone seen any photos or diagram of the head unit?

That same shit happened to me. Apparently it's a common problem with owners of the dimension system. Im taking my car in to get them replaced under warranty but i wish I could be sure the replacements don't blow again. I just got some 10DC12 kicker 12" subs so hopefully all the low frequency power will be allocated to those. HOPEFULLY.
