Howdy folks

I'm thinking about installing nitrous on my VT. I don't have access to a Dyno. So all performance gains will have to be measured at the track. Please let me know if you would like to see.

Thanks

I have no interest in doing this but would love to see results.

Actually yes...Id love to see install process and what kit used. This is a far off detail Ive been thinking about...I doubt I'd personally go anything more than a 35 shot however.

I'll start with a 35 shot. But 250 hp sounds like a nice even number. I think I'll go with a Wet Nitrous Express kit. Part number 20001-10. The VT has a 9.5 compression ratio oppose to 10.0 on the plain Jane. I'm going with wet because if it leans out the stock o2 sensors and fuel injectors will be able to take up the slack. You don't get that parachute on a dry system.

a small dry shot would probably be fine on our car with a WOT switch since it is so damn rich but I would always go with wet.

I am very interested to see how this turns out for you. The nitrous would serve the VTurbo very well. Thinking anything over a 50 shot might be questionable territory for the stock setup as the car hasn't been pushed yet. :p Could also be totally fine.

a 35 shot with full bolt-ons and you should be over the 250whp mark. At 250whp, the HP/Weight ratio will be getting to a real nice range!

Ok so I wanna hook up a can of nos straight to purge vents just for that fast and furious look can you make a diy for that? I'm mostly serious about that ;)

35 shot would be very beneficial, especially if it came on at a lower rpm, not to even mention the massive cooling benefits of nitrous on the charge air.

The cooling benefits on the charge air (especially on the stock intercooler) would almost be worth the nitrous alone. Compile that with it being a 35-50 shot and it will be more noticeable than a 35-50 shot on an NA car.

I shot 35 on my little scion xb and the difference was huge, that little thing was fun even if it was only getting maybe 130 whp with that shot haha. I still have the kit sitting at home, and have been tempted to replace the feed line and put it on my VT :p I know another member on here is running a 35 or 50, and I pm'd him, but he never answered me, even though I have seen him post since I pm'd. My set up was dry so I would need the extra bits to convert it to wet though. ( I ran an AEM wideband to monitor A/F and sprayed onto the MAF so it ran practically perfect on the scion.)

I also was tempted considering my local autozones now have the "speed shop" and fill nitrous bottles, where before I had like a 1 1/2 drive just to find someone who filled bottles.

This would be ez. I might be adding purge. But I think it will make the no2 hit to hard with the VT. I can walk you through adding a purge for show. But you will tire of this because NO2 is expensive . My suggestion is to run a purge with CO2 and point it at the inner cooler. Carbon dioxide is much cheaper. Plus you would get a performance gain.
