I know people have looked into swapping various engines into the Veloster platform in the past but one sticks out as a possibility and have yet to see any discussion on it. The Kia Forte came in a 2.0 and 2.4 naturally aspirated configurations and the mounts look to all be the same as the 1.6t Gamma. Along with the engine likely being an easier fit, there are more complete engine build packages available and turbo kits via turbokits.com. I know swaps are expensive but it seems to me like the forte's 2.4 would have a better power potential. Thoughts?

True.. I just found it interesting to see a larger displacement with the same mounts.

With the avaliable mods for the 1.6 now it is pretty easy to overwhelm the stock power train. Only reason I'd want to do a swap would be to get a more powerful package with less strain on the motor and components.
That is also my concern. The 2.0 theta from the 2016 Forte ex has identical mounts. The wiring and Forte ecu is not an issue for me and would be well worth it to have the 2.0 built and boosted (cams are also available). Transmission is going to be a limitation though.
