Hey guys, This is my review of the exLED full led headlights for both Veloster and Veloster turbo.

Now that I have had them for a while, I think I should tell people out there thinking of getting this MOD what my perspective and opinion is, so that they may determine if this is the right MOD for them or not. First of all I wanna start by saying that I am new to the modding world and I know some people find this type of MOD terrifying and ridiculous because of the price tag. But overall having never made such a huge investment for a car I could not be happier with my decision. I did A LOT of research and asked many people lots of questions before pulling the trigger. I wanted something very specific which was a custom painted bezel and only certain parts lighting up when the turning signals come on. Sam at exLED was very helpful throughout the whole process and did his best to help me get exactly what I wanted. For those of you interested in the custom painted bezel you need to have the Korean paint code so that they could buy it over there and paint it for you. I had a very hard time finding the damn paint codes until I finally found this website. ????? :: ???? ?? ??? ??? ?????!!. What I wanted was a specific type of non-bright white that wouldn't contrast so hard with the blue so that it would not look cheap. After this the buying process was very straight forward, Sam gave me the DISCOUNT CODE for being a member of the forum and told me the process to come. It probably took about 2 weeks till they finished the process of building and painting the headlights.

After that was shipping. I still am in awe of how fast the freaking shipping is. It took like 3 days and that was because they didn't work sundays. it is shipped Fedex and they give you all the tracking information so you can know exactly where the package is and what time it is expected to be delivered. I asked Fedex to hold it at the local office since I knew I wouldn't be home and I would rather them not leave this huge obviously valuable package outside my house. Needless to say I was shocked when I saw how huge this thing was and how well packaged and paddedit was, but then I thought "well what did I expect right?"

I asked Swordfish to help me install these since he knows a lot about cars and has more tools that my wife has shoes. So we met up that coming weekend and took us a few hours to install the headlights because we were trying to do the DRL MOD and modifying the HID kit to stay put into the housing. Broken down the process for just the headlights was:
1. Remove bumper
2. Disconnect battery (for safety)
3. Remove headlights (main connector)
4. install headlights (plug in)
5. Intall resistors to prevent hyper flashing
6. reconnect battery, put screws and bumper back on
7. and WALAH

P.S.They use only H7 bulbs for both low and high beams and they come with a bulb already installed so no worries to change the bulb unless you are installing HIDs

This is gonna be a long ass post=.....CONTINUED>>>

Now to the final review!

It looks awesome guys!! even without the lights on at all... the mix of the blue and the white just looks amazing. As for the lights as a whole well I am really really happy with them. I wanted to test them as DRLs to make sure that they were visible and I was really happy to see they were. Maybe not as bright as bmws and audis but they definitely shine on the reflection on cars in front of you when you stop at a light, and the guy in front of you can clearly see you have a nice custom car. at night it looks absolutely BADASS. When I pull over next to GTIs and FRSs they all stare with awe as I drive off.

A few things that could be improved are that the brightness for day use could be more intense. the corner light is barely visible during the day which I don't mind but the led strip could deff be a little brighter. same with the turning signals as much as someone could tell you are turning, the outer corner light is pretty much not there and the led is pretty hidden so that only leaves the inner corner dots which overall is the brightest for everything, but just hard to see from certain side angles. Also some people who aren't experienced with lighting temperatures could be mistaken that this not AUDI white this is a 6k and therefore has a tint of blue, specially in the day.

FINAL RATING: 9/10

Overall I could not be happier!!! I love riding at night even if it is just to the local market just to show off my lights. My wife also loves them and is happy I made the jump. I would say that if you prefer looks over performance and are looking to start Modding your car, these lights are the perfect place to start. I suggest exledshop.com where you could find all your lighting and more. If you are an expert on taking lights apart they even have the modules sold individually so that you can install it yourself. I hope this somehow helps all the members who are thinking about it or the guy who stumbled on this thread through google search. Anyways. underneath I will post the video. Any questions or comments feel free to post. Cheers!

AWESOME review! I am planning on getting these but worried about the police pulling me over for having no amber reflectors.
Btw, how hard is it to do the DRL mod?
Also, I already have HIDs installed on my stock headlights. Would it be simple as buying the H7 bulbs and plugging it in to the exLED headlights and using the existing ballast for it to power or would I need a whole new ballast?
Using DD precision ballasts fyi.
Finally, what color do you recommend for an Ultra Black VT? Anything but matte black :D

The HID is completely separate from everything, so you can keep everything, just change the bulbs. Why would you need new power?/ It's still your car.

About the police...usually they have other things to worry about then a driver with illegal reflectors. Now, if you get pulled for something else, it's possible you can get cited. (FYI, the whole US/CAN have the same reflector laws, and I have yet to hear of any of them getting busted JUST for that).

For the DRL mod, there's a super easy way to do it, and a safe way to do it as mentioned in another thread somewhere.

I'm bad at matching colors, sorry.

CES - what did you do about the fog lights? Do they have something to offer at exled? Also, did you just communicate through email to see what specific parts you wanted to light up and not light up?

Where did you see your options on what color to get and which separate parts light up, is there a video??

Well I've had these for 5 months in a very police crowded city and no problems whatsoever, I think that cop would have to be having a really crappy day to give you shit for something like that...and about the HIDs I also got DD's and I am not all that happy because the resistor keeps malfunctioning and it flickers any time I hit a small bump in the road...as for color match give me an idea and I'll photoshop it for you if you want, that's how I decided on mine
