Here it is folks! The February Veloster Turbo of the Month contest! There'll be no specific theme this month. Just post the best pic you can take of your VT, but we also ask that you post WHY you love your VT so much in your post along with your pic.

We welcome everyone including vendors to participate, however we will not pick the same winner within a 3 month period. The winner of the contest will be decided by you, the VelosterTurbo.org community. We'll leave this thread open until February 18th and then voting will begin!

  • The photo must be attached to a post in this thread
  • Only one picture will be allowed, so make it your best! (do not submit multiple photos)
  • You must be the owner of the VT.
  • Post why you love your VT in your post

The winner will receive $25 via paypal from VelosterTurbo.org and be featured on the front page!

Looking forward to seeing your entries!

Hmmmmm, why do I love my Beastie? Lets start with the fact that I simply couldn't find anything with the bang for buck provided by a Turbo Veloster for under $50k here in Australia - and to get the same level of inclusions that came with her I was looking well up in the $70k+ mark. I *wanted* LED running lights, sat nav, a good sunroof, sports seats, performance and handling enough to keep me entertained, stylish mags, a body that would make people look, keyless proximity entry, good sound, mp3 and bluetooth built in, etc... as soon as I saw them, I wanted electric fold up mirrors, and the chameleon paint... why would I possibly live with a car with less, when the VT gave me it all AND a third door so the kids could get in, too... all I had to add was the dark tint and I had my perfect car... for less than $40k. How, seriously, could I not love this car???

I still don't understand why your cars cost soo much more? ,is minimum wage there like $20/hr?
In a word TAXES - Cars in Australia are fairly heavily taxed with GST and other various import and stamp duties and govt. fees. High taxes is one of the prices we must pay for having a decent social infrastructure.

Also the entire population of Australia is only slightly more than New York State. This means we don't have the purchasing muscle the US have.

I love my Veloster because it does everything well. I just got back from a 2500 mile trip from Ohio to Florida and back. Along the way I got great fuel economy, powered up mountain roads through Tennessee, and had lots of room for all my cargo. The car gets so many looks and compliments! This vehicle covers every base when it comes to what I want in a car. Power, fuel economy, room, sound, interior quality, price,....the list goes on. I couldnt be more happy with my purchase.

The other thing to consider is in Australia with cars like this we generally only get one trim level and it`s almost always at the top of the range, sadly less choice and more money for us :(

Import duty - 5% and GST 10%. We get one version with the top of the range trim level. US - Load up a Veloster Turbo with the Ultimate Package and the price comes in around $26,000. What's the Australian version? $31,990 plus registration and third-party insurance. Most of the difference in price is taxes.

Of course Australians are paid more on average, and average earnings here are more than $10,000 higher than average earnings in the US. The Australlian mimum wage is $16 per hour but not many are paid so little. So some of the difference in prices of new cars reflects what Americans can afford to pay versus what Australians can afford to pay. Perhaps this is why Americans on this forum are keen about fuel economy where Australians tend to be blase about the last litre or two per hundred kilometres.

I guess Ironman Silver wasn't available when you bought your VT

Top of the line Veloster. Leather, Turbo, Navigation, Power everything, 18" wheels, and, O yeah - Ironman Silver. What an outstanding car. Land vehicle Vehicle Car Automotive design Hyundai

It's winter time so why not add some of the white stuff? Asking a VT owner why we love our VT's is an oxymoron, we all know it's the best car in the road to date :)

All that snow cant be good for the car????. In Australia snow is something we definitely do not have to worry about - heat yes, snow no ;)
