I've had my Australian VT now for about 2 weeks. Unfortunately I've been travelling for work too much to enjoy it.

Since the day I got it delivered with front parking sensors installed all I get is an intermittent beep from the front sensors?!?!

Over the weekend I swapped out the yellowish stock low/high/fog light bulbs for something a little whiter. With the front bumper off I noticed that there are 4 connections for front sensors. i only have 2 installed and visible on the front bumper!

Can anyone tell me if this is standard, or did I get jammed by the dealership? Any ideas o how to get this going properly?

I know most of you will say - take it back to the dealership, but that is about 600km away. I just had to get a turbo and there are only about 50 in the entire country.

Cheers,

AJ

I paid for the optional front sensors.

I get the reverse beeping and camera bit when there is a wall in front I get nothing!
I'm confused, never heard of this being an option, but then again, we're here in the states and don't even get the dual climate option. :disappointed:

mine was fully loaded, and i have no front sensor. they never said anything about it. i think your dealer was bsing?
Front park assist is indeed a AU$400 option here. As far as I can tell only two sensors are installed (no where to really put another two), but clearly they have not been set up correctly. Truth be told in a car with such a visible and short front end they are really not necessary.

Looking at the Hyundai Australia VT page, there is a front sensor option offered. It also appears, based on the image, that there are only 2 sensors; one on either side of the grill. It is possible that there are 2 in the grill that are not visible in the image. I would say to contact your neared dealer. Since it is a factory option, no need to go back to the dealer you bought it from.

In my experience with front sensors, you need to turn them on when you want them. Note, I didn't bother with them on the VT - I can see the front enough - on beemers I've found them invaluable.

Not on BMW's - hence why you need to turn them on when you want them - they then go back off with the ignition, otherwise they'd be beeping in traffic all the time. I'd have been ropeable if I *had* put them on the VT and they only worked in reverse.

Are Aussie drivers so bad at parking they need a forward sensor option .. or does it just help with driving overall?

All fixed now, sorry for the above post but that was happening for the last two days.
Anyway back on topic, my front sensors played up the day after i picked up the car, have the system checked and aparently the front sensors system was changed back to original sensors. The display is different to what was originally installed.
Also confirm that there are only 2 sensors installed. No room for anymore.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by "original sensors" can you please explain?
Okay. This maybe a whole lot of BS as far as I know but this is what my dealer advised when my front sensors weren't working properly.
The front park assist system was updated and found that there have been a few issues with the new system and it needed "fine tuning" and if I was willing to swap the front park assist to the original system I could do it as they could confirm the "original sensors" worked correctly.
As I said could be all BS but that it did fix my problem and all works fine now.
