Warning: DO NOT take a test drive with the front bumper off. The front tires will absolutely shred fender lining. Sorry for not getting pics, but I wanted to throw the bumper back on before my dad came out and saw it.

I had just installed the Forge BOV and wanted to test the green (lightest) spring vs the yellow (middle) spring. I've seen other Honda's and Toyota's driving without front bumpers, so I didn't think anything of it.

From what I can tell, it's part# 86811 & 86812 = $50 EACH. I always learn the hard way.

I'm sure this will show what "noob" I am, but hey... it's the truth. I'm 23 and this is the first car I've ever worked on. I've painted my wheels & engine cover, interior million color LED lights, installed Injen SRI, and now the Forge BOV. I absolutely LOVE this car.

Sorry but you aren't the first to do this. A few months back one of our members learned this hard lesson too. You would have never thought to search, but the warning was out there. Not a big problem, just takes a bit of $ to fix.

man dude that Sucks. hey it could have been worse that's for sure. could have been something you couldn't hide from anybody lol and father's know sometimes you just learn the hard way and there's nothing you can do and you just have to learn from your mistakes.

...so which color spring did you go with?
I originally followed the TurboSocks's Forge BOV DIY and went with the yellow spring. After 2 days (approx 250mi), my MPG kept dropping. As much as I love the sound, I tried keeping a light foot to see if it was my driving or the BOV/SRI causing the MPG loss. I installed the SRI 2 days before the BOV. Maybe I should reset the ECU?

@MyDianaZ06, no I haven't looked into sock's FMIC yet. It's still fairly new and I've been wanting to read reviews.

I reset the ECU last night (Genesis forums say removing negative and holding the brake for 30 sec. I don't know if that's true, but I tried that as well as the clutch+brake).

Forgot to mention I also encountered what seemed like serious HP loss in 5th & 6th gear. Hopefully it was just the ECU and resetting it will fix it. I'll report back in a day or two.
