2016 VT. Sometimes when im accelerating, my boost completely cuts out and the car acts as if its n/a, but when I let off the gas my bov still discharges as if im still on full boost. But once I put my foot back on the gas, boost comes back. Does anyone know what the heck is going on here?
If you're fuel is low the boost will cut. Boost leak will cut the boost, overboost condition will cut the boost, fuel pump issues will cut the boost. So many things
I've tested for boost leak, no boost leaks.. its done it even at a full tank... new fuel pump... the only thing that sounds remotely possible is overboost. What can I do to correct that?
This will usually happen due to boost discrepancies, fuel rail pressure discrepancies, or crank sensor discrepancies. Boost issues will usually throw a code the quickest so most likely one of the other two.
If it were mine I'd replace the crank sensor as preventative maintenance as it may be a cause of this anyway then see if it still does it. If it does then it is most likely fuel pressure related if you're getting no code for it as the boost pressure being off that causes this is more rare but will throw a code quicker.
This is most likely due to the cheap plastic boost control solenoid not functioning properly. Was having the same exact issue in my 16 vt manual. I replaced it with one from Tork and the issue has been resolved.
Not mine, running a mac solenoid and issue is consistent. Will be buying a fuel line and coils next.
