My VT just hit 500 miles and every now and then I'll notice a slight odor of gasoline in the cabin while driving. The smell lasts for maybe 30 seconds and then goes away completely. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something to be concerned about?

Happened to me a couple times, I thought I got gas on my shoe at the pump or something...not sure of the source but it goes away so i don't stress out over it. I will say the car give off a lot of rich smells if you start it up in a garage. freaked me out a bit .. but it faded.

If you are renowned you don't have to say that you are renowned. If you are presenting scientific results you don't edit in sinister music. If you have an exhaust failure you don't drive the car - you call 1-800-Hyundai and have them send a tow truck and a loaner.

What you don't do is produce a sketchy video to try and get YouTube hits because Veloster is a trending topic.

i dont think he is being a troll. The video is related to the thread. I had also watched it a few months back.

At any rate, I think that most are saying the cabin fume issue can be avoided if you extend the pipes back to the actual edge of the bumper instead of the factory location which is right before the big plastic rings.

So America, Canada, Japan, Germany and a dozen other countries all tested dozens of Velosters each and they all certified them for import and all of these countries failed to identify a basic design flaw and failed to monitor carbon monoxide levels in the cabin?

And Hyundai which has put more cars than any other manufacturer in the JD Edwards top 10 list for initial quality for 4 years running and achieves 6 Sigma in quality and puts 7 miles on every car they ship to ensure 6 Sigma quality also failed to identify this problem?

Do you know what a troll is? Discussing a legitimate fault we have with our brand new cars is not trolling. Nobody is knocking Hyundai's overall quality, but there is clearly a problem with a number of Velosters. It happens to almost every make/model in the industry. We didn't buy brand new vehicles just so we could troll fellow owners. Get a grip.
