G'day all from the land Down Under we call Oz. Beer is plentiful and meat pies are hot.

I'll soon be taking delivery of a 2013 Petrol Grey VT M/T. Estimated delivery date is July 19 and it's a bloody hard wait! Just about paid out my 'temporary' car so I can sell it to help pay for the beast. Looking forward to the matte finish, there won't be many around these parts so it's sure to be a head turner. I haven't actually seen a petrol grey in the flesh (I don't think), I'm pretty sure I saw a Young Gun in a showroom but I understand the Petrol Grey is a few shades darker again.

Will leave it stock for a while but plan to eventually add a CAI, modify the exhaust and maybe get some coilovers and drop it a bit. I quite like the wheels on it so will probably stick with them for a while but I might consider plasti-dipping them at some point. Also going to plasti-dip the emblems.

For those that don't know over here the VTs are fully loaded and that's our only choice - not that I'm complaining of course.

I live in North Queensland (a town called Townsville) which has a climate much like Phoenix, Az - Florida in summer (damn humidity). i spent 6 months living in Tucson when I was a kid and attended Wakefield Junior High in that time, vastly different to Australian schools! Great experience though.

I may have some numpty questions occasionally as I learn more on the ins and outs of this motoring marvel.

Simply can't wait to drive this car, coming from a car that puts out a pathetic 83kW I'm pretty confident I'll notice a difference! :haha:

See you all round the traps!

I agree, great intro and welcome. As you were a visitor to my state, I was a visitor to your land, twice while in the Navy. Looking forward to seeing your VT after delivery. The wait will seem like an eternity I'm sure.

Thanks for the welcome! I've already been waiting since the end of April so I'm going a bit stir crazy! Mind you it does work in my favour as I have to pay my current car off then sell the bastard first. The wait time on a matte M/T is 3 - 4 months. It was schduled to arrive in August but the ETA has been bumped up a bit so hooray for Zoidberg!

Ok, confession time. My current car is, deep breath, a 2012 Proton Persona. Oh the shame! The only way I can cope is to keep telling myself it's just a rental until my real car gets here. I must have gone slightly mental to buy it. Despite my desire to thrash the crap out of it I have to refrain so some old lady can buy it. That and it's not capable of much. At all.

I feel better now to have that off my chest. Please don't judge me ;) It's going to be a bloody ripper to get the VT, I'm going to feel like Mad Max (The Road Warrior I think our mates over there call it).

I think I'll call it Carlos.

For some reason we've named our cars male names, We had a Lanos called Lenny and a Ford Falcon called Carl (Lenny and Carl - The Simpsons) and wifey's current car is called Golden Boy (Seinfeld anyone?) as it's burn your eyeballs out yellow. My current car however, is called dick face.

I'll flash my lights if I see you - you have a distinctive VT so I won't miss you! I may of course be down in Brisbane picking my car up so we may pass on the highway!

Oh and Idalia is literally 5 minutes away from me.

I knew this would happen, I'm flying out to Brisbane on Friday and won't be back until the following Thursday! How long are you in town for?

Here it is! Now have 2,200km on the clock and I'm absolutely loving it! Disconnected the clutch switch, removed the magnet from the flap in the air box and removed the resonator from in there as well, makes a difference! Off to the exhaust shop this afternoon to have a chat about what they can do to give it a sweeter sound out the back. Many more things I want to do with it in time but it's a brilliant car :)

Side by side to show difference. First time for me to see this colour. Looks cool despite the expensive washing kit he needed. We exchanged ideas and he got to hear and see mine so was great. There are only about 3 VT's in Townsville , well 4 with mine and I happened to see the Mamalade as I was driving home after visit.
