Just got back from a week down our Surf Coast and took the time to do a bit of driving, Lorne to the 12 Apostles, basically a 130km run consisting of curves, bends and more bends, so a nice 260km run, and a few more variations.

If anyone is familiar with the traffic on that road, it consists of many tourists both in cars and campevans, the odd caravan, lots of people enjoying the scenic drive and lots of motorbikes.

The VT came into its own and I am still pumped.

You know you have a great car when motor bikes let you pass.
The turbo really kicked in when needed to overtake.
Even though I still have the stock tyres, grip was more than adequate and, no officer, I was not travelling at 110 or 120 or even 140 and I did not take those bends above the posted speed limit of 80kmh.

Thank you Hyundai

I rode it a few times when I lived in Victoria. I would expect lots of motorcycles as it's a good biker's road, and the majority of riders are returning riders my age group anyway. It's a physical ride (you do use a lot of physical energy to move a motorcyle around on tight bends). I moved away from Victoria when the speed cameras got too much!

The only problem I can see on that road in a car is being caught behind slow-moving traffic. On a motorcycle you can always get past slow traffic, and you can pick a string of cars off one at a time. Not so easy in a car because you don't have the acceleration. I suppose you could do it mid-week and hope for the best.

Actually has a lot of different riders, My best mate has been riding bikes since he was knee high to a grasshopper and has had lots of varying performance bikes over the years. It is a demanding ride for bikers which is why it is so popular, Mid week is the best time because traffic on weekends and police patrols are high. Biggest fear is an overseas tourist driving on the wrong side of the road.
Ages varied from young guys to seniors on big cruisers.
Overtaking 3-4 cars was a breeze, something I would never contemplate in non turbo 4 or 6, would even have second thoughts an 8.
I have driven it in V8's as well as 6cyl and 4 cyl and the VT's combination of light weight, acceleration and overall performance made it one of the most memorable driving experiences I have had.
