Hey guys,

Just wanted to see if anyone else has had this same noise. I have a VT A/T and when I let off the gas in any situation, whether it is driving hard or driving in a parking lot, there is a groan from the engine. My first guess is the turbo but then in parking lot situations, I'm pretty sure I didn't spool it up at all. Thanks!

I have an M/T and I do hear some sort of groaning sound when letting off the gas and keeping the low gear engaged. But every M/T I've ever owned made that sound when the drivetrain is dragging down to my lower speed.

It could be the transmission deciding not to shift and remaining engaged in gear.

Does it kind of sound like the lifters are floating?? I know that the intake and exhaust both have Variable Valve Timing. I just changed my oil at 8k, 3rd oil change, was 1k over and DAMN was that oil black.... Put Mobil 1 EP 5w30 in with mobil filter and 3.5qts and now im getting a floating lifter kind of sound. But does it at idle, and then when you let off the gas around 2-3k.

It you were doing this when the engine is cold then the turbo won't boost till it get to it full temp. If you see 5 bars in your temp gauge then the turbo will work like it suppose to do otherwise less than 5 bars the turbo wont boost.
