This may have been discussed before, but what is the correct size of the low beam headlight, and has anyone tried the Philips Crystal Vision Ultra?

Secondly, I want to replace the horn in my wife's Veloster, is sounds like sh*t ... does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks :encouragement:

Low beam direct replacement is H11b which is nearly impossible to get, or so I've read. I'm looking to replace stock halogens with a bright white bulb, without splurging on a HID conversion. Has anyone found a different source?

The only 11B's you might find are the cheapo ebay ones. People have tried them and reported that the light output sucks.

Nokya (who supplies the OEM bulbs and is a Korean company) makes a ton of great quality aftermarket bulbs, but for whatever reason, they dont make 11b. There are a ton of cars that use the 11b these days too. All of Hyundai and Kia, Ford, to name a few.

I've been doing research and have been checking out some of the different car forums (Lexus, BMW, etc) and they say RUN AWAY!
That is pretty much what I wad expecting...although I still may buy a pair because they are so cheap unless you read they were like melting the housings or wiring then I won't bother.

Speaking of replacement, I saw a pic of someone on here replacing their low beams and in the pic the bumper was taken off. Please don't tell me we need to remove the bumper for a simple bulb replacement... I haven't had a chance to take a look. Is it just a normal swap or does the bumper need to be removed?

You really do. The space behind the low beam bulbs is super tight. I have pretty small hands, but trying to twist the H11b into the socket resulted in me dropping it into the headlight housing (got it out eventually). It's actually really easy to get the bumper off (only 10mm bolts & some Phillip's head retainers), and working with the headlights after that is a breeze.

Not what I wanted to hear simply because of the fact that you can't just do it at the Auto parts store after buying a bulb. If they even carry the bulb to begin with. The other day Wifey's bulb burnt out in her Sonata. Bought the bulb and swapped it out in the parking lot.

I'm not scared of removing the bumper so much as replacing it. Does everything align automatically or do you have to manually align it?

There's only one way to fit the H11b bulb in (and my local O'reilly's does carry them). It might be possible to get them in without taking off the bumper, but I wasn't able to do it.
