So from the day I bought my lovely little Gringa, I noticed the hood sat a little "off". Nothing major but I still see it. Wondering if anyone else has noticed it.

The gap between the front of the hood and the grill.

And I also have a slight overhang at the driver side where the headlight, bumper, and hood meet. I tried to get it as best I could in the pics. Not sure how to get it right and the dealer has no clue either. Should I just get the dealer's body shop to check it out?

That is one thing that I have always noticed when looking at the vt from the front is the gap between the top of the front grill and the front of the hood.

That overhang is noticeable. I have never heard of it brought up here but it is interesting to hear from others if they notice any overhang. I bet everyone is going to pay a little more attention now at that lol

I noticed that the day I brought mine home as well!! At first I thought it was all in my head but the more I looked at it the more I could tell it was off just a bit. The gap on passenger side is smaller than that on the driver's side. I thought maybe if I twisted the rubber pieces attached to the bottom of the hood it would help level it out but it didn't do anything. Although it's so minor but bugs me at the same time, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed/has it.

I was thinking the same thing. Weird it didn't do anything. I know they are more for popping the hood upward when you pull the lever to pop the hood. But I would think the might help level the hood when it is down.

I'm actually thinking of putting some shims in under the top cover over the radiator support area. If you grab the top of the inside of the grill and pull upwards, it fixes it. I'm sure it's structural and a flaw in the design, but I mean damn......just irks me enough that I care. Lol

The QC on these cars is less than amazing, that is for DAMN sure. My gap on one side is more than on the other side... Always has been..

My drivers side door jamb rubs the inner part of the door when closed to paint is rubbed off both sides..

Spot at the tailights where the roof line and rear fender meet at a point, there is a chunk of body work missing and painted over o_O

I've notice this as well, I almost felt my white color choice made it more noticeable then I see you post up Urs and its white also.. Is there a way to adjust from the hinge on low it drops ?
Unfortunately, I was told that there is only one way the hinges mount so there are no options for adjustment at the hinges.

The reason the round rubber bump adjusters dont do anything, is because they hold pressure on the latch itself, when you open the hood, and look at the two square funky shaped rubber bumpers, these are what hold the hood from the bumper. if you shave those down some, the hood will sit lower, and then you will have to adjust the latch, and/or round twisty rubbers to keep the hood from flapping around.

dont shave too much .. those rubber tabs keep the hood from smashing into the headlights.

So I pulled both funky rubber pieces. BTW, they're a pain to get off. You will do finitely bend the metal slightly getting them off. But you can use your finger to put it back in place. Here is the clip on the underside and the hole on the hood they go into

It'll be tricky to shave it. There are certain grooves for the headlight. I'm sure a Dremel at low speeds could work pretty well. I may try this weekend. But I'll only do the drivers side as that's the worst offender of the gap.

I think I've figured PART of the gap problem out. The 4 mount bolts on the radiator support don't let the bumper move forward or backwards. I'm going to make some small notches to pull it out some. Still have to figure out the pulling the bumper up towards the hood though.

So I actually did the notching in the upper radiator support. It worked out wonderfully. I will take pics tomorrow.

I now need to figure out how to come up with some kind of bracket of sorts to pull the grill up. that will alleviate the rest of the gap. It is almost gone but not entirely.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to pull the bumper off any time soon as I am recovering from my spinal surgery. Hopefully in a week or two I will be able to lift more and get that sucker off to investigate it.

Can't you adjust the two cylindrical rubber stops on the hood to adjust the gap? If you notice, you can turn them left or right.

We have tried that. I believe those rubber cylinders only adjust the tension on the hood latch. I ended up notching the 4 holes on the radiator support and pulling the bumper as I tightened. Kind of fixes some of it. But there needs to e a bracket of some sort in there.

The bracket we made for the billet grill took care of the gap for me, check it out. Maybe you can do something similar. Post #79 http://www.velosterturbo.org/forum/veloster-appearance/2424-f-s-veloster-turbo-billet-grilles-profusion-racing-8.html
