Idk if anyone else had heard about this, so figured I would share. Hyundai and kia placed the wrong mpg rating on alot of their 2012/2013 models. There is a list of the models and the correction of the epa rating. The vt had a combined discrepancy of 4mpg. So what do we do about it? Hyundai is reimbursing ownders for as long as they own the vehicle! There is a form to fill out and you just have to take your car to a dealership for them to read the mileage. hyundai will then send a debit card (to my understanding) that will be credited for a percentage of gas money (in relation to your mileage). I believe the website is www.hyundaimpginfo.com

Thanks for the reminder. This was the kick in the butt I needed to get my ducks in a row. I traded my 2011 Elantra for my VT and according to the Hyundai sight I should be getting back a bit over $100 for that plus what I'll continue to get for my VT.

What if you just bought the car in September, don't even have 2k on it, but bought it on the strength of the mpg and using 87oct like i did over the ST or the Spd3?? This sounds like a cheap slide job.

Small claims court anyone?

That's why they're reimbursing you the difference in price for the mpg difference.

Since they already offer a retribution, I dont think you'll have any claim in court.

Yep, the cut-off was Nov-2. Right now I get $4.41 but I'm gonna wait for a while since the car's not broke-in yet and I'll be making a lot more miles. The word is Hyundai will continue to reimburse far into the future. This is not just a one time deal. They may use the info you give them initially for computing all the following years so I'm waiting to build up more mileage. I don't believe there is a time limit on when you have to file for a check.

Emailed them, said it takes up to 6 weeks for reimbursement after you get mileage check. Not sure if the same on subsequent checks. No mileage limit. The more miles you drive, ie..the more gas you have to buy. The more money you will get back.

They should do more though but at this time, this is all they are willing to do.
