Hello there!

I'm currently shopping for a 2013 Ultra Black Auto Turbo(no ultimate package). It stickers for around $24,500.

I've gone to two dealers(none in my city), traveled as far as 90 minutes to try to make a deal.

Here is what they offered: bottom dollar trade in no where near what my current car is worth. Easily $1000-$2000 off.
They won't budge on the price of the turbo except a $500 Hyundai incentive on it. They showed me there invoice & said they only make $900 on each veloster that they sell at MSRP.

I don't see how they can keep there doors open at $900 a Veloster......

I've owned several new cars & the only way I feel comfortable with purchasing the veloster is to have them come up on trade value & down on the price of the car.

So, I'm curious what some of you have paid compared to MSRP? I don't need to know what you paid or how much under MSRP?

I've never had this much difficulty trying to buy a new car from someone before.

I've owned 2008 Chevy, 2010 Kia, 2012 Ford, & I'm trying to get a 2013 VT.

The nearest dealer(40 minutes away) salesmen went on vacation & I know he'll call me back on a follow up.

Sorry for the huge first post but I've never seen two different dealers struggle to make a deal for me on financing a brand new $24,000 vehicle..... It's like they don't want the sale.

$24 seems high for a non ultimate, but depending on where you live does come into factor. If I were you I would try to sell my current car privately and then use that as down. Check out the thread on how much people have bought theirs for.

Don't pay a dime over MSRP .. 24 does look high for non ultimate, but I would suggest just getting the package if you plan on keeping the car a while.. No sense is spending that much money and not get it loaded..

MSRP
Motozuma 500$ matched down if they still do it
Take the 500$ incentive
Trade in value

There have never been many discounts on the VT.. Some get military and hyundai circle discounts

Get on the hyundai think tank website and get an account. Once you do that, our experts eligible for hyundai circle discount pricing. Use that to shop for it. I bet you can get an auto for around 22k or so. I paid 20.7 for my manual VT.

Also, there might be rebate incentives coming out soon, since the '14s will be coming out pretty quickly.

Do you have any more information on the incentive/discount pricing?

In Michigan an automatic VT MSRP is $23,895. The dealer told me they will buy the car at $22,995 only making $900 on each veloster turbo they sell. Is that true? There is no way to get a VT for less than $22,995?

I just don't see dealerships keeping their doors open at $900 profit.....

I paid about $22.5k for my base auto Boston Red in Phoenix, AZ. Pretty good deal because they had installed 30% tint all the way around.

EDIT: and they were asking $24,995 when I inquired about it.

Hey op, just to give u an idea of canadian pricing, a VT here is 26,xxx MSRP, invoice price is 24,6xx IIRC. So at $24,500 in the US, it's a huge margin of profit for the dealer where u inquired. Wait for ur salesman to call u back. If he/she can't do better, try another state near by. You can also call or email dealers for business, u are not obligated to purchase in state, unless taxes are a huge factor from state to state

Edit: Also, the VT in Canada is fully loaded (only one trim) whereas US has two (base & ultimate). So for a base VT in the US for $24,500 it is high in price

That's a good deal!

I've signed up for the Plan A pricing through Think Tank and the model car I am looking for does not appear. I know my dealer can get what I am looking for so can I take my CID number into my dealership and apply that to the car?

I've contacted Hyundai think tank program to figure it all out.

Thank you all!

DO NOT LISTEN to what they tell you! Like your first mind says there is no way they can stay in business for 900$. Negotiate over the phone or via email before you make that 40 min drive. Agree to a OUT THE DOOR PRICE tax, tag, etc. Make sure they put the final price in writing and print it out and take it there because they will try to switch there word. The Ultimate only adds nav and back up camera and also a more voltage plug, which is not worth the price use google maps on your phone and look through your mirrors when backing up. My OTD price was 22,300 with everything included doing it this way. Good Luck

also, if they only made 900$ on MSRP, they would be screwed because through the Hyundai Circle pricing it is usually LOWER than MSRP. I don't recall my ThinkTank login but I could get this months code and I'd be willing to bet the HCircle price on that car is lower than MSRP :p

The Ultimate also adds the panoramic sunroof. The big reason most people opt for ultimate.

I don't really care for the NAV in the car but I'd rather not use my data and hook my phone up to those little sticky pod things to get my GPS that way either.

I'd be happy to have the VT base as long as it had the sunroof. Here in Vegas it gets really hot and just having that popped open to allow the air to move is really nice. Also the Ultimate has the adjustable side bolstering for the drivers seat. I would not mind getting rid of the heated seats though.

I've gone through the think tank deal & their are no ultra black auto turbos that come up to select. So I selected a white one just like the one I want & it's $750 & $250 for a $1000 discount. I found a Lansing dealer that is offering new cars at invoice.

I may have a VT auto Ultra Black if they can find one!

We're are you located? I know the dealer in town here has a blue one that is an auto....
Has to be black ;)

I'm currently in contact with the Grand Ledge dealer. I'm in battle creek & Lansing isn't that far for me.

They have black ones available for them to go get.

So far, they have invoice pricing until the end of the month.

Secondly they have already offered me $1000 more on my trade in & could be more when I am able to get to them.

Third, I have plan A discount from Think Tank until the end of the month.

As of right now it is looking promising to deal with the Grand Ledge guys. Answered all of my questions with honesty, told them about my crappy experiences with Grand Rapids & Kalamazoo.

They're going to call me tomorrow morning with what they find on the black turbo!
