Just got in from spending 8 hours on the HIDs from Diode Dynamics and I just ended up giving up. All I have to show for it are a chip in my bumper, two dust caps with holes covered by electricians tape, and two broken clips. I didn't even get the bumper off because I broke those clips and stopped, I was following this video

to remove the bumper annnnd it's not quite that easy, at least not for me. Then, i figured I'd at least try to get them hooked up and realized the DD video didn't say anything about where the connections from the OEM housing to the lights would be (on the BRZ video it's a simple connector that hangs out) and when I saw that there's no chance of doing that without the bumper off I packed it up. So, hopefully a touch-up pen will make that chip look descent, if not, this was one expensive 8 hours. Not sure what to do about the broken clips. I need a beer.

The highest clip on both sides broke off.

Inaccessible cables.

At very least, my oem bulbs work.

on that color would be pretty hard to match and blend a spot. Personally I would just put paint in that chip and chalk it up as a learning experience. Most people wont notice it if they stand back a few feet. I used a hypodermic needle with the pointy end broken off to fill chips in paint so that you can put as much or little as you want and it wont go anywhere that you dont want it to go.

also I wouldnt worry much about that broken clip. the bolt in your fender well will hold it tight enough.

Well, it could work since the car is only two weeks old :furious: but I'll see how much the pen is and what Hyundai says when I go in to get the pen.

I *might* give them another shot. But I'll see how I feel tomorrow... or in two days.

It's like nail polish brush and doesn't come out right. If it bothers you respray probably $75-$100. When you get the screw out from the upper wheel well and the 2-3 in front of the wheel. Take your hands on the bumper in the wheel well and pull. It will pop out right at you.

this, and after you get the sides off I reach inside the bumper under the lights and push the bumper out away from the headlights so you dont break those clips.

Ok, I might give it another shot. And if they can respray for $75-$100 then I'll just do the lights and have them do a new bracket and spray. I don't mind paying that for a respray.

I must be retarded. (HID fail)

Which way do you pull it to get it off completely?
It has a tab you lift up or push down on ( can't remember) and it slides off the bulb holder.
