I think these would look awesome behind the rear reflectors.

I'll need to measure when i get home and see if it would fit. LED Spiral with Animated Spinning Patterns

It's too big. Our's are 10cm in diameter, but those are 10.9. At 10cm it's already a very tight fit. There is no possibility of fitting even a 10.6cm diameter into the hole. (3.9" vs 4.3") I just measured, and it looks like the absolute biggest size that can fit inside is ~10.5cm diameter. Any bigger and you're looking at impossibilities. However, to get the 10.5cm into it, you'd have to cut from the side, not the back. If you do that, there is a higher chance of the reflector not sitting flush in the right place on the car.
Damn because those would look real cool!
It would. Of course, you'd really only see red if you put it back there. But I wonder... ;)

...I'm so immature lol

On another note those would be very illegal even if the did fit.
:p I'll try to be less...ambiguous with my descriptions haha
The other ExLed reflectors that flash and "wave" are just as illegal. If you're going to do it might as well go big.. :)
I believe that the ExLed reflectors that flash do a pulse-to-solid action. Where it pulses 3 times and then goes solid when you press on the brake. This is not illegal and many dealerships are actually installing units that connect to the 3rd brake light to do this same thing.

PULSE there are multiple dealerships in my area that equip every new car on their lot with these.
In Oklahoma anything other than emergency vehicles, construction, roadway tow trucks, and mail carriers are prohibited from any flashing lights .
OSCN Found Document:Special Restriction on Lamps
Va I just realized you're from OK as well. Edmond Hyundai puts these on all their cars. Is it legal according to what's written probably not but the fact that these brake lights pulse makes me think that it is actually more of a safety device that has been added to the car rather than a random flashing light. The laws for vehicle lighting probably haven't changed much since they were first written. Looking back at Exled's flashing module you are probably right that it would be illegal but the companies like Pulse and Safety F1rst are products that pulse that would be legal for use.

According to the NHTSA they said in a report:

"Model results suggest that enhancements to the design of rear brake lighting signals may lead to
improved performance relative to the standard conventional brake lighting, reducing the
estimated number and severity of rear-end crashes. Of the brake signal configurations tested,
those which simultaneously flash the brake lamps (both outboard and CHMSL units) at 5 Hz
were found to be effective, reducing the crash rate by as much as a 5.1%, equivalent to 21,723
fewer annual rear-end crashes; these signals were also found to impact crash severity levels. The
model also found that effectiveness of the simultaneous flashing signal was moderated by both 1)
signal luminance and 2) activation (or triggering) criteria."

I think that in the years to come the laws will be changed to reflect this study. btw here is the link to that study NHTSA study See page 65

Was wondering what PULSE was.... One of the cars in Dallas I looked at had that...
Ours do really quick flashes which could look like it's pulsing, but once that slows down, it does flash (distinct on/off) for about 3 times. After that, your choice of fading in/out (v2) or steady (v1) for the 3rd brake flash module.

We can't copy pulse for obvious reasons, but you have choices besides just us.
