So I've had my deposit held for the past two months with my local Hyundai dealer, since then it's been weeks of conversations that went like this:
"Hi Brian? Your Veloster's arrived. We have a whole shipment of 2012's in! Oh, you didn't want a 2012? Sorry about that"
"Hi Brian? We got a Veloster Turbo in today... it's in black. Oh that's right, you wanted Vitamin C. Sorry about that."
"Hi Brian? What model and features did you say you were looking for again?"
Then last week I got two very different calls.
"Hi Brian, we should have your Veloster in two weeks." then three days later, "Hi Brian, you should come pick up your deposit check, we have no idea when we will be getting in the Veloster you've been asking for."
I was crushed. I started looking at the Scion FR-S as an alternative, or possibly going back to the Mini Cooper Clubman S. Instead I decided to write Hyundai Corp a letter (again). I had written them once already and they told me they were trying to find one as well but didn't seem to be having any luck either. So my 2nd letter basically tells them I am highly disappointed and my overall satisfaction is 0 since no one can seem to find this brand new car. Told them I have $30K that I'm trying really hard to give them but no one seems to want it. I also CC'd a few Hyundai VP's I found on Google.
Next thing I know I get a call from my dealer last Friday, tells me my Veloster is on a boat right now with my name on it, they have a VIN# and instructions to be shipped directly to my dealership with my name all over on it.
MY CAR WILL BE HERE. SOON. I am so happy.
