looking at BRZ & FR-S forums. The aftermarket options are near about endless and there seems to be a lot of creativity with the brand/car. I am so ready for some beastly parts for our VT or I might have to consider trading. Someone give me a reason to hang with the VT prease.

One thing really keeping me with the car is the styling of it. I see BRZ's & FR-S's EVERYWHERE. So I do like the exclusivity of the car. But give me more reasons. Any promising mods in the near future?

If you like it keep it. If not don't. You should not have bought this car to try and make it fast. It is what it is, a small hatch with a small engine. May get to 250-300whp with supporting mods... lots of them. Oh.... and one wheel drive. Thats a killer right there

I if anything trade for a genesis.

they are spending way more money for their aftermarket parts. it isn't worth it to me.

turbosocks is coming out with a turbo kit for around 2500. they have a turbo kit for 7k.

the only thing I hate about the vt is the rear camber can't be adjusted.

other than that I'm happy with the vt. it's going to take time for aftermarket parts to pop up. and I'm happy with the wait. it just came out.

it is weird that aftermarket parts are slowly coming out. you'd think with the potential this car has and the design/looks aftermarket parts choices wouldn't be a problem.

but you do what you want homie. if you can afford reading in your new car and eating the negative equity and again getting a new car just because of aftermarket parts availability, go for it if that's what you want.

like 3SXturbo said, parts are out there.

what do you want?

I should not have bought this car to try and make it fast? Isn't that on everyone's agenda? I'm just very disappointed with the lack of mods for this car so far. It has been out long enough for major tuning brands to hop on board so we can create a slight power house. You can see/feel the potential for this car, but it's just not there yet. 250-300 hp sounds great to me! The car doesn't weigh that much; so with 300hp, it would be plenty quick enough.

Keep in mind that the Toyaburu twins are light, rear wheel drive and have a nice boxer engine. It gets so many things right; it is a mod-happy platform. It's not the end-all-be-all car, but it is very good. Hence, mods arrive faster.

The Veloster is doing well considering it is a FWD turbo Hyundai. The community is stepping up big and more things will be coming. I'm very happy with it.

keep in mind the boxer engine has been out and go fast bits were available before the car came out. Not too much R&D was needed for them, just modify to fit the BRZ. The VT has an engine that is new to the market so there is R&D time and also market demand (not many VT's on the road). Companies like Turbosocks, Pierce, 845, etc are really doing a great job pumping stuff out as soon as they can.
Lack of mods???

FMIC- Turbosocks,845
Exhaust- Solo, Magnaflow, Borla, 845 soon
Intake- Turbosocks, AEM, Injen
Downpipe- Pierce (work of art)
Suspension- HR, Eibach, Ksport, Megan, Ark
ECU tune- On the way

and the list goes on and on

Do you prefer having passenger space along with lots of cargo room, or a pure drivers car? I see the twins all over and immediately wish I had gotten one, then I remember you can't fit people in the back and would never be able to fit two road bikes and luggage in the rear, and remember why I bought the VT in the first place...practicality. I almost think there are too many after markets out there bc my wallet can't keep up. Its almost an insult to a lot of the guys on here to say you're disappointed with aftermarket.

Amen.

+1

Joutlaw, check out the vendor section, there's tons of stuff out there that might satisfy your need to mod.

The FRS/BRZ doesnt come with the tech goodies found in the VT. Not too mention the backseat in the FRS BRZ is useless. The car was created to be modified, like the old days of the rear wheel drive corollas, celicas, etc...

Iv never driven an FRS but according to Motortrend and many other reviewers they are the most hyped sporty car in a LONG time. Everyone wants one and and any kind of mod a company makes will be money in their pocket. The veloster doesnt seem to get good reviews by many, and not many people know about them. Many bigger companies only see money and an FRS is a guarentee, everyone and their grandmother wants one and starts modding it. Their market is twards young modders. A veloster is marketed a bit more for econemy, practicality, and gagets. Im sorry I love the BRZ but I havent seen that kind of clock since I was in an 98 SAAB lmao.. but i bet it has something to do with saving weight.

I'm guessing by how everyone jumped the gun, I am unlike a lot of you. I don't have kids. I don't lug a months worth of groceries from the grocery store daily. I don't ever spend time in my back seat. I am a young professional who lives day to day and eats fast food almost every meal I can. I bought a sporty looking car with high expectations. I don't care that it has a roomy cabin with enough space for 6 car seats, a beach bag full of toys for the kids to build sand castles with and enough cargo space to store a kayak & two bikes. If i cared more about those things rather than being able to create a power house of a small turbo hatch, then I could have saved myself a few grand and purchased a NA Veloster. Looking at the car I can practically hear it screaming through its wide mouth grill.. "I wanna go fassssttt". I bought the TURBO Veloster to go fast (Ricky Bobby style). No disrespect to any companies who have already created mods for the VT, but I honestly expected the market to be endless by now.
