I was asked by a member about possibly offering an oil cooler where the stock IC goes to fill in the hole and after thinking about it, it probably would be a good idea, especially for those who track the car in the summer.

It should be quite easy to develop an oil cooler kit for the car, just would have to be some interest out there for me to do so.

Rough idea on a price for a complete kit would be ~200$ shipped for everything from the sandwich plate, fittings, SS braided hoses, cooler radiator and brackets without looking at anything.

im thinking about an oil cooler... the car runs hot so def would be beneficial

for autos, i know that Gencoupe's 3.8 ZF auto trans gets overheated when pushed to the limits and would go into limp mode until it is cooled down. many people added trans cooler and it fixed the issue.

I have no idea how the stock auto transmission is cooled. I am guessing it is not a very great system as they don't design them for tracking the car. It shouldn't be to hard to do a transmission cooler on the car but I wouldn't be able to make one without having an A/T to look at.

I am going to a few cooler cores and some different lines/fittings soon so I can look at getting together an oil cooler kit.. I am going to try to make it so you can use it with my FMIC kit or with the stock intercooler, we will see how it works out.

Alright, doesn't seem like any real interest for this but I will be doing a kit on our car and then probably offer up kits on a case by case basis. I was hoping to get better prices on getting more interest but the pricing shouldn't be much more this way.

The things I am going to need to nail down are the line length so there is no extra line like typical Universal kits and the right angled fittings to work with the positioning on the V.

I am going to need to hook up an oil pressure/temp sensor so I can get results before/after since these are not available sensors through torque. I want to make sure there is no pressure drop that is significant by adding in the extra line + cooler.

the FMIC would be best for the heat issues caused with lower times because the lack of heat soak issues. The oil cooler will mostly help with track racing, autoX, etc. where you are on the car for more than 15 seconds or so at a time.

I should be starting this kit sometime soon!

There are 2 tracks here in Houston that have open track days that I want to start going to. Would be fun to do more than just drive in a strait line.

What are the dimensions of your Custom Oil Cooler Kit? Would it fit in the ugly grill brick on the grill?

When Hyundai gives you lemons(brick), make lemonade!!!
