Before I drop ~$30 on an adapter from apple, has anyone tried using the Hyundai iPod cable with an apple lightning to 30 pin adapter? If so, does it work well?

when i charge using the cars usb it charges pretty damn slow lmao i just ordered a mini usb car charger and imma see how that works make sure its a 2.1a charger otherwise you'll get the this iphone blah blah blah does not support charging
should arrive tomorrow ill let you know how it goes :]

Fwiw: The 30pin to lightning adapter doesn't support video output.
You do not need the Hyundai cable.
The Apple Lightning to USB cable will charge your phone and allow you access to your podcasts and music folders.
All controlled by the dashboard.
I know the lightning cable does not do video.
I use the Dezoris ELA USB Interface for video:

on my '05 Nissan Altima I had a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT Installed and was able to control Pandora (on my iPhone 5) from the head unit using just the Lightning-Usb cable that came with my phone.

Is there any chance you read the owner's manual? The HU controls are outlined pretty specifically there.

I did look at the owners manual, and I just tried it again and it won't let me select pandora
The guy in the video is streaming Pandora thru Bluetooth.
He doesn't have a cable hooked up.
Occasionally I can get Pandora to play a song or two through the lightning to USB cable, but it will then either switch automatically to ipod, or I get a message saying that Pandora cannot play while connected to the USB.
But when Pandora does work for a song or two the album artwork shows up on the screen.
It does not show artwork when you stream Pandora through Bluetooth. (like in the video above).
