Common sense tells you that nothing that Hyundai produces would ever be collectible.

But then you watch the Mecum and Barrett Jackson auctions and the cars that introduce new technology and styling that are produced in small numbers bring the most money. And the combination of options that make the car rare really drives the price up.

If you do the math, a Matte Gray VT with a MT is produced in much smaller numbers than an equivalent Ferrari or Corvette back in the 1960s - much less today.

Everybody goes nuts over a split window Corvette, but in reality the VT is produced in smaller numbers than those cars were produced.

Hopefully it will be. I am planning on keeping mine for life.
