Is Weather and Traffic provided by SiriusXM or Bluelink?

So, my trial sub for xm is a few days from expiring and I got a flyer in the mail to renew my sub really cheap so I decided to snag it and I ran into an issue.

I have the ultimate package in my VT plus the fully loaded bluelink and XM trial. Both XM and bluelink provide a weather/traffic service. Is the XM/Sirus one necessary or does the headunit actually pull data from Blulink? I couldnt find any information in the booklet which leans it one way or the other. Any ideas?

(If anyone is curious, this is a pretty good deal. 1 year @ 7.17 per month = 86$/yr + 6 months after that free.. 18 months for 100$ (After US tax).. Normally 14.50$/mo, now ~5$)

SiriusXM breaks into 2 package NavWeather and NavTraffic which are about 50$ each.

Based on what I read, the nav uses sat traffic if you choose your route by traffic load and the Bluelink system is not tied to the nav but via the bluelink system itself. I know that when I newnewd

When I had to renew, I chose sat traffic only. I do not drive long distance enough to justify the weather subscription. I paid 4.99/mo for sat traffic only.

Paid $37 for 6 months for radio, weather and traffic. Don't know how to get weather though. I think its just the channels on XM.
I've called on this and they are saying 6 months for 89 + fees/taxes and an additional 6 months free, NOT 18 months for 100...
Also, the traffic was an additional 7.99/month. Who are you people talking to?
Best price I can get is 158. for what the car came with (music, traffic, weather) for 1 year.
The flyer I have has no code or anything, also doesnt have an expiration date..
And it is 1 yr @ 86$ + 6mo free

Ill scan in and post a copy of the flyer when I get home.
They called me and told me about the $30 for 6 months. I asked about traffic and weather and told her I would not continue my service if I was charged any additional fees. She looked at her computer for a moment and told me that it would only be another 7 dollars as a flat fee. Good luck
I haven't been offered any of those deals.

The deal as I understand it is the first 6 months for free then the fee is for the next 6 months only - and only if you sign up for recurring automatic payments.

It is not clear whether the traffic and weather comes from Sirius or Bluelink. The Bluelink page says it covers traffic and weather. If you do the math the Bluelink first time renewal offer is not that great of a deal either. For $179 you get the full year - minus the 3-6 month trial subscription. It costs $279 for a year by itself. That is only a $39 savings.

I didn't find Sirius to have much value and only found a few stations I liked. The majority of their programming already existed on my local radio and their specialty programming like the 80's channel were poorly done. I would occasionally hear ads for channels that might interest me in the 400 range, but the radio couldn't receive them and none of the ads showed them either.

I don't like how Bluelink tiers their service packages either. All I want is the NAV stuff and not the silly voice-mirror stuff or the cellphone stuff. $279 is pretty steep. I might go for $25 a month.
