Jack and Jack Stands

Got a pretty noob question but I don't want to screw anything up so better safe then sorry.

In the owner's manual it says the jack points are the spots on the pinch welds located by each tire. Those spots are fine for a quick jack to rip off a tire, but where should you jack the car up from and where should you place jack stands for doing any real work on the car?

sorry I never got back to you. I just saw this thread and remembered the PM.

Use the jack/jack stands anywhere along the pinch weld running front to back of the car on each side. I usually put the jack in the front (just behind the tire) and the stand right behind it, then move to the other side.

When working under the car, I use the two jack stands and keep the jack propped up on the passenger side (second side I jacked up) for extra safety.
It's alright, I know your busy. Won't jacking up on the unindented parts of the pinch weld bend it? I don't want to bend or damage anything, especially if its visible.
I was wondering about this since I will be putting on R1 Concept rotors and painting calipers this weekend. I was going to lift the car from driver's side, then passenger side; instead of front then back.
My GF has '07 sonata and when I was changing her front tire, i placed the jack on the inside slightly behind the pinch weld to make room for the stand; that was a bad idea. Pinch weld bent.
This is how I have always jacked up mine and any customers car using these areas. My car has been jacked up countless times (probably 50+) and there is very little bending at those locations.

If you want, you can put the stands under the subframe if you are worried about it.

If you have enough clearance under the car, you jack jack it up on the subframe and put the jack stands at the stock jack points.

The issue I had with those spots are that I can't fit both the jack and the jack stand at that location, its too small. So I would have to jack it up from a different spot or put the jack stands in a different spot. That is where my concern is.
the support of the material is strong enough to put the stand right in front and jack right behind it.

You can wait for someone else to chime in but that is how discount tire did it and that is how I have done it everytime.

That was my problem as well.

Noob question, where is the subframe in the front and back?

Do you put the jack on the jack point or jack from a different spot and put the jack stand on the jack point?
I use the sub frame. I did however have to respray undercoating where the jack/jack stand was. Its all personal preference.
On the front, I do just as TS said-jack at the front of the pinch weld and the stand right behind it.

Front
I jack off of the subframe and stands on the pinch.
I jack off of the subframe and stands on the pinch.
Lmao you do what on the subframe? We don't want to hear about all that

On my Mustang it was highly advised to jack up the car using the subframe because you could bend the pinch welds and by doing so could throw the front fender out of alignment. Not sure if it's the same with the VT but I'll probably use the subframe to be safe.
I use a single jack on the pinch weld to lift the complete side of the VT.
The location of the jack is about a foot forward of the rear of the drivers door.
Same place (location) on the passenger side.
I only do this to clean the wheels and tires.

When I'm doing work underneath or taking off the wheels, for rotation, I use four stands to support the car.

It a strange car for sure - so stiff.
I have never had a car that acts like this one when jacking it up.

Hockey Pucks. Cut a groove in them the depth of the pinch weld, then place them on top of the jack or axle stands. I used four of them when I fitted my cat-back.
