So After picking up the VT, I asked the dealer not to drill my bumper for the license plate as i'd rather not have any permanent holes in the bumper. so i looked around for alternatives, and stumbled on this post , Front License Plate Relocation, where Lenny G came up with a good alternative to spending 150 for a piece of metal to hold a license plate.

Since the VT has a different front bump, i've had to go with the 4 inch hex bolt instead of the three, and cut off about half an inch (4-5 threads), other than that the instructions are pretty self explanatory. Now if only the brick wasn't in the middle of the bumper.

Anyways here are the results.

I am glad you like it but I don't like it.

Makes it look even more out of place with the center brick and the way it is just kinda 'hangin' there off to the side..

I agree, the brick is throwing it off, but i might just buy a second grill and just hack both up and make 1 without a brick.

if I had to rock a front plate, this is the only way I would do it....

Yea here in VA cops are very big on handing out tint/plate tickets, one of the guys in my g35 club used to have one of those, but im sure there are better mods to this early on than on a $180 license plate frame.

yeah...it's dark. i am running 20%. came up at 18% on his meter. legal is 50%. i always get nabbed on overcast days 'cause it looks darker, and i was distracted due to carpooling with my wife for the first time...so i couldn't open the sunroof shade and flip my sunvisors up to make it a little lighter-looking. he mainly pulled me over 'cause i was in the HOV. had i been one lane over, i wouldn't be $95 lighter right now - sure of it.

sorry...hi-jack ended.

i think the mod looks like a "dealer tag," IMHO.

lol yea i can relate. I used to ride windows down sunroof open in january, then again they were 15% tints. I scheduled the VT for 20% all around. 35% for my wife's VT lol. Btw i though legal limit for VA was 35%?
