Motor oil recommendations?

Has anyone other than me used the Lucas Sythetic Oil Stabilizer in their vehicles?
I used it in my 97 F-150 for 10 yrs., and sold it with 260k miles on it and never used a drop of oil, and never even had to go inside the inside to fix anything. so I know Lucas is good!
I am just curious if say a high grade Valvoline Syn-MAx oil w/ Lucas is just as good or better than the top of the line oils like Amsoil or Royal Purple?

XMAN: I looked up the analysis of the Valvoline 5W-40 that I use and would appreciate your thoughts about these compared to others:
FLASH: 230; NOACK: 10 wt%; Sulfated Ash: .78; ZINC wt%: .084; Phosphorous wt%: .077; Calcium wt%: .193

Has anyone ever tried using "Hyundai XTeer TOP 5W40 oil" ? Any thoughts?
I'm not sure what the dealer is using for Oil, but I changed the car to castrol 5w30 magmatic ( full synthetic ). The car now runs better than before and the black layer around the exhaust is not increasing, additionally the catch can is empty after 5000km.

I use this Oil on my other car which has a direct injection engine. Now after 80,000 km I can say I trust it better than the other oils available here.
I'm not sure if it is the same to be honest, since these companies/manufacturers offer different products to match the weather conditions of the region. However castrol oil is very reputable, so it worth trying.

I've been running Rotella t6. It's listed on the lspi thread. It's widely available and I don't plan on racing on track at high rpm so it shouldn't foam when I autocross here and there

Interesting on the new note about Amsoil Signature... That's what I'll be running since its pretty much the only option I have.

I found Ultra Platinum in Ottawa at the NAPA East location at $63 for a 5L (1 gallon) jug. Pricy shit.

The Castrol Edge Titanium (not Magnatec) I'm using now is a group III oil but uses magnesium opposed to calcium. Was just using it for this interval and then going with Amsoil... I already bought enough for 3 OCIs.

Maybe a UOA for the stuff in my car now is needed.
hey staax just to put things in perspective that amsoil about on par with a gallon of pentosin synthetic oil for my 2.5L jetta.... and it pales in comparison to my VT.
I have been using Pennzoil Platinum for about 3 years now. I found the Quaker State smells like rotten eggs through exhaust. Pennzoil in my opinion is much cleaner and smoother. I have a few people telling me that Amsoil Signature Synthetic is way better then Pennzoil. They say freezing startup is better. Therefore, I am conducting a freeze test on both oils to see for my own eye and for the fun of it, which oil flows smoother below freezing.

Oh that price was for the PUP, I can actually find Amsoil for much cheaper.

Likely because I'm Canadian and PUP doesn't seem to be carried here in stores like Walmart where its carried for you guys down south.

We don't have Autozone's, O'Reillys, Pep boys etc... Only really Canadian Tire and NAPA (which are hard to find)

Price of PUP up her is double than what it is in the US haha... The oil you're using in your VW would likely be double as well.
So at this point of the discussion, do we have a consensus on amsoil or pup. Is amsoil a better lubricant but with calcium that doesn't help on the lspi issues. Or pup which may be a lesser quality oil with less benefits but without calcium.
I'm really on one change per year because I do less than 3k per season, regretfully, and really just want the best sitting in there most of the year. The little I do drive it, its not pushed very hard, and not driven in freezing temps. My gut tells me to stick with amsoil for my situation, but I'd grab some pup if the calcium issue outweighed the benefits of amsoil.

I think Pennzoil is the better lubricant for this car. Amsoil is a great lubricant but with the combination of GDI injection and high boost if you have a tune, personally I think the Amsoil leaves some things to be desired.

I ran Amsoil for about 10,000 miles over 3 oil changes and within the first 2,000 miles it had stained the back of my car nicotine brown/yellow and I'm still trying to get the stains out of the paint. There is just something about the Amsoil that causes it to get very thin and creates enormous amounts of blow by.

Also with the Amsoil I had issues with low compression. I was starting routine maintenance at home and checked the compression with my toolset and got around 158 PSI so I took it to the dealer to get the engine looked over. We did a compression test at the dealership with the same 3000 mile old Amsoil in the motor and he was only getting 156 psi. At this point my technician was going to warranty my motor but we went ahead and changed the oil anyways with Pennzoil and retested the compression right afterwards. Low and behold the compression went up to 176 - 178 PSI across all 4 cylinders. We were pretty shocked to say the least. I had the Amsoil sent out to Blackstone for analysis and they said it had dropped to a 5w - 20 weight. Which was another shocker. The only conclusion we could come to was that the Amsoil had gotten too thin to properly seal the rings. From that day on I switched back to Pennzoil and have not had low compression issues anymore. Also my catch cans only fill up half as fast now.

Pictures of the yellow brown stains left on the back of my VT from running Amsoil. Again I think it is a good oil, and even though it dropped to a 5w-20 after use, the wear metals in the oil analysis were not increased... just something weird going on with it in my car all related to it getting thin IMO.

As soon as I switched away from Amsoil no more stain formation. Have run Penzsoil and at one time castrol and neither produced this residue.

Eeekk. That's odd. I'm running Amsoil Signature 5w30 and have an Elite White VT and I've never had that issue....
Me as well, same oil and color, no problems
