Muffler and Resonator delete video!

16957 Views 31 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  VelosterDom
Hey guys I had my exhaust made into straight pipe from the cat today.. Heres a video if anyone was curious on how a stock VT sounds with this setup.. Also, I have had many cars where removing the resonator would give the car a little sound to hold over until you did full exhaust but not on this car, it was still quiet with no resonator.. Hope this helps anyone also considering it since its not real expensive to get some sound out of your VT..

yea, making progress slowly but surely.. I will make some videos in the next few days with some drive bys and a take off.. Im just trying to help out anyone who is interested in a similar set up..
I can't wait to hear it run up through redline in 3rd and 4th.

Back in the olden days of my 70's BMW 2002s though the resonator actually added power and was used even with larger headers and such. Even the top dollar ANSA exhausts still had their enlarged pipe version of the resonator in place.
And my mod where I removed OEM muffler and resonator and put n place a sports (straight through) muffler.

Very happy all round with sound and not too loud at all.
heres some vids of crusing speeds enjoy!

Here's some videos to give you an idea of a bpv to bov mod and exhaust as stated earlier in thread.. Feel free to leave any coments!

DAMN that sounds so nice! Love how it doesn't sound ricey. It sounds deep. The bpv-bov must gets you hard on every time you hear it lol

BTW was that on 121?
Haha naw I was on Davis blvd and yea, I'm surprised how loud the bov sound is.. I love it... The exhaust is real deep that's what I love most :)

LOVE most of Arlington streets. Fort worth streets are horrible.
Yea I agree lol
Hmm def considering this till I get around to getting my solo exhaust
Love it!! What size piping?
Thanks guys, only cost about 75 bucks to get the resonator off and to cut a piece right before the muffler and aim it to the ground.. It is the same size piping as the stock piping.. In my opinion, I can't justify spending 6-8 times more if jot more than that for a similar sound.. Yea I may not get the >10hp but oh well, ill spend my money on other mods.. If I need to, I can take more pictures and plan on adding some more videos of me really getting on it, it was just hard to film that with it so dark and on a busy street...
lol, I'm sure he'll get right on that :haha:
More vids of this setup, please. Startup, takeoff, flybys on revs and off revs. Pics of underneath would be great also.
Someone is a bit demanding.. Ill get to it when I can like ^ said
I did say please...

:saint:
I don't mean to try and take any "flare" from this thread, but Keith and I have almost the same exact setup in which he helped me out with a lot. I just have 3in piping instead that's the only difference I have in mine. Here's a fly by vid and exhaust vid from outside the car idk if this gives you an answer to the vids you want him to make but it's always here for you to check out:

Holy pee that's loud
Thanks rotation! I appreciate you helping me out answer some questions around here! Lol

Dianaz06 that you see around on the forums helped me with my plasti dipping my wheels red about a week ago.. He filmed this for me, this is also with the intake mod that cost about 30 bucks..
