Hi,

I would like to change just the muffler of my car, Do I need to buy an specific muffler or can I just get any?

The reason why I am just changing the muffler is because I only care about the sound and not the performance, plus I am trying to keep this baby as stock as possible :)

Hi,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I like your muffler but 500 is a way too much for just a muffler. I went to some muffler shops yesterday and they quoted me 300 installed for a magnaflow muffler.

I am still thinking about it lol.

Holy crap 450 for an axle back please tell me I'm misunderstanding you
Full T304 stainless, tig welded with a stainless steel high flow y-pipe... nope. We only build parts of the highest quality and post the results from our work with dyno graph's. We are looking into a titanium axle back as well to reduce some of the low level sound and give it a little more mid-range tone.

If people want to buy 409 or aluminumized steel for their systems they are more than welcome to, we would rather have the quality vs the quantity.

I fully understand that but I'm having my full catback mandrel bent and tig welded for just about the same price is all. Were all about quality over quantity a well but ( I'm saying this as a member not a vendor) really when your not including a muffler and your still 3/4 of the price of the mangaflow. The quality looks good but if your going to use that many cut and welds in the final piece I understand the high price I understand that it's a prototype but that's the only way I can justify it. Your looking at roughly 200 in parts if you order the parts at standard cost so even at a normal shop rate of about 100 an hour your saying it takes 2 hours to do the labor? I know as a business you have to make money and quality costs money but I think that's a bit much for just an axle back

Can you link to your catback or is it not ready for release yet?

We have not decided on a final price and there is around $200 in parts with and hour to an hour and half of weld time. We could have done a full cat back at $700 to $800 again with the same quality. Magnaflow's new cat back MSPR is $900 +, again its about the quality vs quantity.

i get that but when you're not a huge name some times you have to take under shop rate to get your foot in the door.. magnaflow's msrp is 900+ but most companies wont sell it for near that much. Quality vs quantity is all well and good but i'm trying to help you out because you're going to be hard pressed to sell things for the prices your listing when companies that have a following and track record that are house hold names dont even sell for that price. I could do a full 304 stainless catback with a borla muffler and still have it for under 700 and we'll still make money on it

To much money, for 450 I just prefer to put 200 more and get SOLO.

I am just looking for a muffler, I think I will go with a magnaflow muffler
Like I stated the price is not final and remember, that $200 more gets you a straight piece of tubing with two flanges on it.

I could build these all day for $195 if I used steel piping and painted it, but that is not how we do things. I would rather not do it than build it out of crap. We all pride ourselves on the products we produce, we export from overseas, we don't use cheap 18 gauge material and we refuse to mig weld. If you look on our facebook page you will see that we have some of the best weld quality aorund, people have went as far as saying our welds look like they were done on a machine.

With that said, if you want some additional sound from the car just delete the rear muffler and leave the resonator in the mid section. You can view our video's with just the axle back and see the sound quality. Adding a muffler to a system that already has several sound deadening items (turbo, cat, resonator) would not give you the sound you are looking for. If you just want a little more noise, delete the cat and resonator and leave the factory muffler in place. The shop car with the cat delete on it running the factory resonator and muffler sounds pretty good. We will have more videos loaded of some new exhaust items soon.

yea and solo's axle back has a muffler in it .. so that 200 gets you a muffler as well. i'm not going to get to talking about what people have said on facebook. I've sourced 99 percent of my products/ materials from companies in the us..again we're trying to help out man. hell i even have all of my custom machining done locally. adding a muffler can give you the sound you're looking for if someone wants smooth and deep but doesn't want loud. i personally dont mind the muff delete but it seems that most people on here do.. keep that in mind.

First, we don't take under shop rate for anything. Next, we have been in business to long to do it cheap... my motto is do it once and do it right. Those company's that don't sell at MSRP just loose money and de-values the product.

I am going to be as kind as possible when I say this, if I needed your help I would ask for it. Every shop car we have brought into our shop has set records and most of them still stand today. We may not be the "brand name" but we will be the shop that sets the HP, 1/4 mile times and trap speeds that everyone is chasing. I have been doing this since 1989, I have been doing this longer than the age of most of my competitors, LOL. After you have been doing this as long as I have... it just makes sense to do it once and do it right.

With that said... you can continue to make your full exhaust systems for what ever $ amount you feel is fair. You are new to this, you are an up and coming shop that needs to offer affordable items with great quality because if you don't you will not be that "guy". We have managed to sell products and outfit our shop with several welders, two CNC machines, powder coating, ceramic coating, dyno, blasting equipment, lifts, blah blah blah blah. We have over $60k in programming software for vehicle tuning, AutoCad, Flow similations, hydraulic pump control (we specialize in GDI) and many other applications. We are serious about vehicle performance and it will show in our products, dyno charts and step by step progression showing the gains and performance strides we make in this market. I think what you are doing is great, the competition just brings better parts and products for the consumers.

Kyle, love what you are doing but please understand that I am not interested in your help. Its good to hear you get all your machining done locally, we do all ours in-house. I can see this being a problem and when two vendors disagree I have always found it best to agree to disagree. With that being said, not going to get into it with you. Keep doing what you do, and we will do the same!
